So I finally got rid of the Fit bit a few payments on it just to get rid of it quickly. Getting the Florida DMV to get me a title was a ridiculous matter in itself because they said it would take 7-10 business days to send me the title, when Florida switched over to an e-title system a few years ago. Called the DMV asked if they could print one out at a local tax/tag agency and they said no. Long story short they can do that, they just have idiots working there....so this delayed my new car purchase for a while because I couldn't yet transfer the tag.....

Well in the meantime I went out to purchase this Caddy CTS-V. Owner is a bit flaky, get impatient with me while waiting for the bank to approve my loan, calls me every 10 minutes to see if I had heard back from them, then threatens that he is going to put the car up on E-bay...which he does and it sells so I lost out on that.

Then I find a nice low mileage 06 GTO in Spice Red Metallic, ebony interior, 6-speed, and full exhaust. Get approved for a loan on this car, well come to find out the guy who is selling the car isn't the owner, selling it for a friend over seas. The guy has the title, has power of attorney, but has literally taken a week or so to get the info to the bank so their lawyers can review it. This E36 M3 scares the crap out of me, this guy starts being real flaky and I'm sitting here left without a freakin DD to drive in this 100+ degree weather in Florida with all the humidity in a freakin F-body with a A/C system that only works half the time and being single and trying to take girls out on dates it sucks because I'm like "Girl, you wanna drive?"

Oh and I almost went and snagged a E46 M3 with 36k on the clock for 17k in Laguna Seca Blue, run a carfax after checking it out, and yup! SALVAGE TITLE!

So I'm at the point where if I find a base model V6 camaro for MSRP I'm buying it. No it doesn't have LSx power, no it doesn't have a HALO ring or HIDs, but it has more HP than my LT1 Trans Am had, runs just as quick of a 1/4 time as an LT1, and gets better fuel economy. Plus it would just fit into my lengthy list of F-bodies I have owned. I can't believe how ridiculous people are when it comes to selling their cars as well. It's a E36 M3ty market and some people I've contacted about their cars aren't budging at all, yet I still see them for sale weeks down the road.

The fit can suck it. Yes it was a great car and it was a "smart" buy, but I had to be realistic with myself, I felt like a bit queer at the helm of the car, kind of like I was an American version of James May. That's just not my style, I'm all about big V8s and pissing off the tree huggers that drive ecologically sound vehicles like the Prius, iNsight, and Fit.

Hey that GTO might not be a lost cause, but you sound like you're in a hurry.

You'd think people would have their E36 M3 in order before they try to sell their cars...

I am in a hurry! I already have a steady sweat going just driving to the gym from the Trans Am. Plus I always smell like exhaust fumes (which I don't mind, but people are like "WTF IS THAT SMELL")

I love driving the car, i love the sound, etc. It's just not a practical DD with the big cam, no power steering (working on a solution), and fickle A/C.

Power steering went dead at the central florida road course. Dove in hot on a hairpin, went to go turn and nothing, thank god I've got muscles as Hanz and Franz would say. Just put a new rack in not to long ago, thought the pump was fine, obviously NOT!

They don't, they never do. Whether it's cars, apartments, jobs, people never have their E36 M3 together

Dude, calm down, take a breath, and search. There are cars out there with good sellers. Look at 04 GTO's and CTS-V's, look at C5 Z06's, hell look at G8's. If you don't want to make the same new mistake again then don't.

Heck I know there's a cherry C4 Targa Vette for sale in Central Florida I could hook you up with tomorrow.

YUCK C4 LOL! I want an LS2 goat or else I would have had a LS1 goat already, plenty of those around. CTS-Vs are so few and far between, or the owners of 04s think that because they owe 24k on the car its worth it...even though its worth about 18. I've been looking for months now, FIt has been up for sale for a while and finally got rid of it. Now I'm just in more of a hurry to get in a car.

Looked at G8s as well, but want a stick, I get bored driving auto. I need a cruiser and a Z06, ughh, I'd be tooooo tempted to do way to much.

Be patient. It is hard, but unless you don't mind overpaying a little or buying something that isn't quite right for you, you'll have to.

I struggled to take my own advice driving my 944 without a/c (or even a working fan) for the last two months in Alabama heat. I found something a couple of weeks ago and got an great deal. When looking back on the cars I almost bought because I was feeling desperate, I would have either overpaid or not really liked the car. In either case, I would have never been happy.

I know how it goes, when I bought my first trans am it was like this, waited, waited, waited...found a mint 1 owner t/a with 66k miles on the clock, all service records, etc. RIP to taht car....

rushed on buying this ls1, last summer doing an interior refresh project and take the old nasty carpet out and looked as if a javelin went through the body under the back passenger seat...hence why it's being turned into johnny racer car.

mom keeps on telling me good things come to those who wait. we'll see.
