I’ve been wearing a Sturling rose gold automatic for a couple years. Love the watch and unlike a battery powered one I can’t kill it

Premoon speedies are mega dollar watches for collectors. Most likely the movement can be repaired (and you want to keep the original movement), if it's just the stem that's a pretty simple process even if the part needs to be made.

You'll want to have the movement services at the same time most likely and get at least one more appraisal, especially if it's pre-moon, just in case.

The cal should be on the back of the case. If it's not there it's a real early one and inside the caseback. The last time I heard about a pre-moon excellent condition Speedmaster going up for sale it, was traded for a Rolex Air King and enough money to pay for a post graduate degree.

I miss my last watch. It was basically an Ironman with a dive watch inspired metal band.

Hope I'm not too late, but adults shouldn't be wearing Fossils. I happen to think the ME1128 is brutally ugly, and the blue one not far behind it, but even putting aside personal taste, Fossil is objectively a crappy watch, material and manufacturing wise.

Used Citizen would be a good answer.

The problem isn't getting a replacement stem, it is getting the remains of the old one out. I spoke with my guy the other day, he has a good used movement on its way that he hopes to pull parts from to repair mine. Time will tell.

As for value, I am interested to know, but interest is as far as it goes. It was my dad's watch, It'll be my son's watch. Pretty much all I have are his watch and pictures, and the ring on my wife's finger, which was the one he gave my mom, who still had it even though that divorce was nearly three decades ago.

Anybody tried a Seiko Flightmaster?

Which variant? Mechanical chronographs are pretty neat in general just because of the engineering.

Flightmasters with the 6S37 movement from the early 2000's are cool because they share a lot of similarities with the 9S Grand Seiko movement (which is to say they're fantastic.)  The 8R movement variants are robust and a bit less expensive. The solar/quartz versions, while way more robust and more accurate, leave me a little cold.

Flightmasters actually have a pretty good sized following so it's easy enough to get a hold of one.

I can totally understand that sentiment. I must have misread your original post. Fingers crossed the watchmaker can repair it and get you running again.

Got this at Costco a while back. It was a little over $100. I really like it.   It is very thin.

Thanks!  I've seen some big swings in price from place to place and appreciate you clearing that up.

I'm familiar with the bottom 2 knives, what is the one at top?   Seems like a lot of car guys like guns, watches and knives too.  Must be all things mechanical?

All things that can kill you, watch is so you know how long it took?

Now I’m looking at watches again. And wearing my analog. But that is probably for the best as my wife will probably take my Casio for ref season.

Time to start shopping for a mickey watch.
