What are some new laws that your state is issuing for the new year?
A few for Illinois:
Good:
All speed limits on interstates and tollroads get maximum speed limit of 70 mph.
No more ticket quota for police
Bad:
Beer tax will extend to hard ciders
The others I could care less about.
MInnesota is requiring more hours behind the wheel for student drivers before they can get their license, which I think is a good thing.
Arizona is raising the state minimum wage by $0.15/hr. Can't find any other laws than that.
In reply to Lancer007:
Ours (WA) too.
Though ours - at nearly $9.50 - is a little north of yours
In reply to SnowMongoose:
Yeah ours will be $8.10/hr
930+ new ones here in Kalifornia. Plastic bags has everyone flipping out. DL's for illegals too.
How did we live without these desperately needed new laws
Hey, if that didn't keep the politicians busy, just imagine the real damage they could do .
No more emissions testing in British Columbia.

While I applaud the initiative.. I recycle those bags into trashbags. It just seems silly to buy something (at a good price too) for the sole purpose of throwing it out.. especially when the store provides a perfectly good alternative for next to nothing
Texas is doing away with inspection stickers in March. Not inspections, just the stickers. Another few square inches of windshield free!

"Massachusetts will finally allow "hold open" clips on pumps at self-service gasoline stations, ending motorists' complaints — particularly in winter — about being in one of the few states where the clips weren't allowed."
Wow. I never knew those were removed by law, I just assumed that some jackwads were running around stealing them or something.
NY is in year 2 of a 3 year incremental min wage hike. This has my employer adjusting the pay bands.
Ohio has extended the requirement of CDLs to operators of non-commercial trucks of any type including minivans and SUVs, with traffic fines adjusted accordingly.
(Not true, but a man can dream)
NYC stopped having laws, well not laws but enforcement of them. Urinate on all the things!!!

Switching over to OBDII only now? Or no emissions testing of any kind?

in New York you will no longer be able to take a selfie with a tiger. I know thats what you all hoped to do.
In New York in February, it becomes illegal to pose for a photo with a lion, tiger or other big cat. The measure, which specifically prohibits contact between members of the public and big cats at animal shows, passed after self-portraits with the animals started becoming more popular online, particularly with some young men on dating sites.
Also in Illinois, some roads will have 60mph speed limits for trucks (vs 55). Not sure how many actually go 55 currently though.
In reply to Mezzanine:
They've been using OBDII for years.
It's more like they've finally figured out that new cars won't run if the emissions system is broken.
Pa. gas tax will add 10 cents per gallon starting 1/1/15; registrations, licenses, inspections will also increase.
MO: new fines enforced if you're not talking on the phone while driving a minivan/suv type vehicle and cutting everyone off as you vagrantly display some sort of hand gesture.
In TN, a woman getting an abortion now has to look at the ultrasound, and hear the beating heart before the procedure will be carried out.
The small village I live in has gone to 2 hour parking downtown. County workers et al eat up the spots meant for lunchers and tourists.
I can't find anything really. I'm sure if anything changed in NC, it wasn't for the better. They probably gutted the education system more and maybe passed a law or two against common sense.
