So the parental units have finally accepted that it's time to move. My two younger boys and I are headed down on the 21st to see what we can actually accomplish. I've talked with a lot of different people about what's wrong that has to be fixed before the house can go on the market.
1. Roof repair. It's minor stuff and they already have the money to fix it but looking for references from anyone that might know someone.
2. 2nd floor leaking issue. The home warranty place (the debil) says they want to rip out the first floor ceiling to find it. I've talked to American Leak Detection and I've talked to Harold Plumbing. Harold sent me back to ALD because he said that he had worked with them and they would make his job much easier (Harold didn't know I'd already talked to them). ALD's owner, Greg, called me personally and gave me some really great things to check out before ANYONE came out and admitted he might be talking himself out of business but with my level of knowledge (thank you, Toyman) that he felt we could check those things out. I really want to go with them if I need to but figured I'd ask if anyone knew them good or bad.
3. Repairing holes in sheetrock and basic painting. I can paint. The last time I tried to repair sheetrock the guy told me he'd pay me to never touch it again.
4. Basic handyman stuff. #3 might fall under that. I'm not sure what else I'm going to find but going in armed is better than going in blind.
Thanks, everyone. I appreciate any and all input. I'm reading Google reviews but we all know that friends and family will boost those for people so they make me a little leary.
