I've often thought about getting my SCCA region's F&C patch on my shoulder (like military guys do their stripes & stuff), but haven't pulled the trigger on it yet. Perhaps I'll save it for the next time my ex-wife says, "..you're FIFTY and you STILL (XYZ)?"
EDIT: Image. Doesn't lots of color mean lots of time in the chair?
I think i'll get an arrow on my neck pointing to my mouth saying "Boost."
And then an arrow coming out of my butt saying "Apex seals."

I was going to doa "skin tear"on my lower back where my kidney is and it would expose a turbo. Similar thinking.

I like the exploded part diagram idea.
I kinda stole the idea from Jonny Cocker's girlfriend (the ALMS, ELMS driver). She has a crankshaft with a con rod attached to it with the labeled numbers going up the side of her torso. It is a thing of beauty on her. I'm thinking mine would probably go in the same place as hers.
I think I speak for all of us when I say.....I dont get it. I think we need a picture.

I've been toying with the idea of a hop bine (they aren't actually vines) on my upper arm, like a twist on the barbed wire cliche. Something along these lines, but in green:

yeah, that's pretty cool. Of course, anyone in Georgia is going to ask why you have pinecones on your arm, but then, we're mostly inbred idiots down here.

Whatcha guys think?
This is an excellent idea and I heartily endorse it.
I wanted to get a gear but then realized that people would misinterpret it as a "gears of war" things. Ugh!

These guys are pretty much mocked as being way, way too moto, fyi.

Well, that's why they'd be green.
I have a winged piston on my left calf, part of the logo I stole from the Salt Lake Throttlers hot rod club (weirdly, if you do a Google image search for 'salt lake throttlers' my tattoo is the second search result). The exploded piston view is freaking cool, but I'd be worried there'd be too much detail, and it would either be too small to draw, or it would bleed badly, unless you made it huge, like covering your whole back or something.
And wow, people making fun of me for my tattoos, calling me impulsive and vain and childish and following a 'fad' (which has been going on for, oh I dunno, seventy or eighty years), y'all sound like my mother-in-law. I must've been a convict because I have tattoos. I've heard it all, spare me. Kthxbye.

Pinecones are green before they're brown.
I'm more than likely getting this on my forearm.
In reply to 92CelicaHalfTrac:
I still want this

I'm definitely digging the current trend of ribcage/side tats on women. Very hot.

I hope to get this sooner than later:
