I would say cooked, and fresh from the table. I'm pretty sure it's bad to feed any bird uncooked grains of rice, and you should never feed them anything spoiled.

Cooked leftovers. They won't eat anything too hard. They seem to really like anything red, like, watermelon, spaghetti with sauce, and they are especially nuts for tomatoes. They're not picky, they'll eat almost anything.
Yeah, at my buddies house if you chuck a watermellon rind anywhere near the chickens and it's a mad dash. It's hilarious to watch.
