Thought this was rather a neat idea (not that it helps with the spare bolt bucket)

Nice reference to have.

Now, to improve on it, make include the different pitches. Coarse, Fine, 1.0, 1.25, etc. That might drive you to have one board for SAE and one for metric.

And the LBC guys need Whitworth, right?.

The gun guys need all of the above, and 6-40, 6-48, 8-40, and a ton of others.

You just know that within a year he'll be all out of bolts or nuts for some project, and he'll have to pry one off that board to use.

For the $15 he spent on materials he could have had two bolt gauges

There is usually one in my bolt bin.

I have so many calipers around the garage that on the rare occasion I can't tell from looking at the nut/bolt I just grab one of them.

I have a couple pitch gauges but those only come out when oddball stuff rears its head. Really Souix? 9/16"-14. What was up with that?

I just always used my thread chasing kit. (not a tap and die) Then you can get length from a caliper or something of that sort. That way I know my threads are good too.
