Who was the genius. Pinky or the Brain?
Carefree and don't give much of a berk about anything?
I'm going with Pinky... We could learn a lot from Pinky...
Pinky, as he's always just looking for an adventure to keep him busy for the evening, and finds it everytime. The Brain is not only a failure, but insane, as he sets out with the same objective each evening coming up empty handed in his quest, yet still continues on expecting a different outcome.

Apparently Rob Paulsen has been making the rounds doing the "Nations of the World" song live: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d58V755Owmo

According to the lyrics, "one is a genius, the other insane". And the characters are introduced with Pinky first.
I had figured the Brain was the genius when the show was first on, but now I can see why it would make sense that Pinky is the genius and the Brain is the one who's insane. Usually Pinky is playing Sancho Ponza to the Brain's Don Quixote. The only thing that Pinky does that actually seems crazy is his answers to "Are you pondering what I'm pondering?" And now that I think about it, those off the wall answers could be subtly mocking the Brain's hairbrained schemes at taking over the world.

I was going to go on a rant about it, but this sums it up so I don't have to.
