this is my "terrible sunday" rant for the week. thank you in advance for listening.
Why do Officials suck so bad? I could be a Referee, or Race Official better than anyone. It all started at 12:30 in the morning. Stupid F1 race officials ROBBED Sebastien Bourdais of a Great points position (ahead of stupid Sebastian Vettel again.), because he came out of the pits at the wrong time. It was Massa's stupid fault that he collided with Le Seb. The only reason he was penalized was to move Massa up in the standings 1 position (therefore making the points championship 1 point closer). LAME!
Now on to Referees. What do refs have against the Detroit Lions. They should have handily won that game the way their Defense was playing. 2 HUGE bad calls on them lost them the game. 1. Big 30 yard pass gets caught by Calvin Johnson, he takes about 2 steps with clear control of the ball. Johnson gets ROCKED! and brought down (replays show he still has control of the ball between his body and his arm). Johnson hits the ground with the ball in the crook of his elbow, when a Minnesota player quickly grabs the ball and pulls it out (the video shows it). The play is ruled a fumble with Minnesota recovering. Detroit wants a review. "after reviewing the play, the call on the field stands". Berkeleying Refs! 2. Nearing the end of the 4th quarter, Leigh Bodden goes on pass coverage, the reciever trips and falls with Bodden in the vicinity, and it is called Pass Interference, bringing the ball nearly 40 yards closer to the goal line.
Detroit's Defence really stepped it up though. 5 sacks, 1 interception, 4 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries, and a blocked field goal attempt. Keep it up Detroit D!
Yeah. It's no secret that FIA is basically theater. I'm not necessarily sure that NASCAR is much different, but I can't point to anything specific off the top of my head.
As for the Lions, they just cannot catch a break/ The defense especially played way above their level last night...only to get shafted on two really questionable calls. It makes me wonder, there have been a lot of questionable calls in general over the first six weeks of the NFL season. The real shocker for me was when Ed Hochuli, who is one of the most experienced and all-around best refs in the NFL blew the call in the at Broncos/Chargers game.
Don't worry, though, Maroon92. I think that Detroit is finally on the upswing, what with Millen finally getting the broom. If nothing else, both of the pro-teams from Missouri are racing each other to the bottom, so you guys are at least Number 30 instead of 32. And now that Millen's gone, Carl Petersen gets the spotlight as the worst GM in pro football...and it's about damn time.
The refs were killing the Eagles/49ers game, almost gift-wrapped the Cowgirls/Cardinals game for the Cowgirls, and then this. Bad weekend for ref'ing, huh?
the refs blew the bucs game last week at Denver. NFL has to have it's ratings and top markets being pleased, I'm surprised they didn't pull some BS out last night to let the cowboys win. New England just got their arses kicked I don't think the refs could have helped their cause.
As far as F1, I find it just as boring if not more, boring as NASCAR. At least NASCAR drivers will beat the piss out of each other while drinking their Budwieser and the announcers will make it sound like a pro-heavyweight fight. I could see F1 drivers getting mad at each other, maybe slapping one an other then getting into a pillow fight.

Nothing suspicious at all about a yellow with 10laps to go in every single race... mmmmhhhmmm.... invisible debris strikes again!

You can't deny that NASCAR and F1 are on the same level of BS with each other. They both suck and both are almost fatal to watch, but like I said NASCAR at least makes it exciting like the WWE to watch sometimes. The only good thing about F1 is they are on road courses.

I used to watch NFL quite a bit, but the obvious bad calls turned me off. How anyone can believe there isn't corruption or favoritism in every major sport is beyond me.
You can't spell FIAT without FIA.
I think I'm done with F1.
These penalties are ridiculous and always seem to be against McLaren. It is not motor racing any more. No US GP, no Canadian GP, KERS green technology BS, ....When Bernie and Charlie Whiting (and the Nazi ) are put out to pasture maybe I'll be back.
Right now I'm done.
