Credit Union --- Here I come!!!
I've been with BoA for several years now. All told, a pretty good banking experience. I'm a small timer, though.
I have an account with a local credit union, and a chase account. One for summer, one for school... I have 3 Chase ATM's on campus, and have to go three miles for the nearest credit union one. In the summer, I get paid in cash and have the credit union branch about a half mile away from where I work. Its gotta look kinda funny though, if they were ever to notice the pattern I have of withdrawing large* amounts of money and depositing them back ever 9 months.
*Large is in relative terms to my account. It is by no means large, just a great percentage of what I have.
I have been with walk all over you(Wachovia) for a lot of years and never really had a problem. Have business and personal accounts with them. Their willingness to help you out is directionally proportional to how much money you have with them. When I was younger and broke, service was fair. Not great and not bad. Having a business account with them we usually get a phone call at least once a month just checking to see if we need anything from them.

Then they put a 'hold' on the check funds (meaning they pulled the money BACK out of his account) AFTER THEY HAD CREDITED IT TO HIS ACCOUNT! Now he has some bounced checks. He is on the phone with them as I type this.
Same berkeleying thing happened to me with these shiny happy people. The same thing! And what's with all the berkeleying $1.00 charges for USING MY CARD? I just left Citizens because it took them 10 days to deposit a CASHIER'S CHECK for $6,500! I needed that money to pay off my car. They needed the money to loan out interest-free. Now it's time to find another new bank or credit union.
T-Shirt Hell to the rescue! Get yerself one of these:
Stinking banks. Many of these fees are nothing but theivery.

And for every one of us who caught them doing this, there's probably about ten that just pay up without questioning. Crime does pay, if your collar is white...

No, I think that would be "Don't get honey on your hootus around bears or bees."
I have been with a number of banks over the years.. none of them willingly. The bank I originally opened my account with 20 years ago changed hands on an almost yearly basis.. and with it the rules they banked with.
Since moving to Commerce Bank (now TD) I have had no problems.
My mom uses BoA.. it took her 6 months to get a new Mac card after her old one died. Supposedly they would send her a new one (after giving her a temp) but it never arrived.
When mine ran out at Commerce (now TD) I walked in to get a new one and walked out with it 15 minutes later

Careful big fellow, that could get you a free vacation at the nearest federal penal instituion.
If you live around SW Ohio, check out Wright-Patt Credit Union. They are open to EVERYONE in the area. No employment or affiliation needed. They do not screw me on fees; they turned a multi-million profit in 2008, so they gave me a $28 dividend on my checking account, rather than sending a CFO to Hawaii.

is that in dayton? Wright Patterson is the AFB isnt it?
I recently got a nine month CD from BoA and while preparing the paperwork, the account officer mentioned that if I worked for one of the companies on their special approval list, I’d get a 0.3% higher rate of return.
I stated who I worked for and while she looked to see if my company was on the list, I just picked out another company name from the list.
When she said “I’m sorry, your company isn’t on the list, I said “that’s their public name, perhaps they're listed by their legal entity name which is XYZ”…Let me see – oh, there it is - this must be your lucky day.
Bhahaha
