It's going to be 70 and rainy here today. I'll try not to enjoy the lack of snow. Thunderstorms are easy to deal with.

Here's what I don't like about the snow. Just enough to make me have to shovel in front of the doorways at the offices I take care of but not enough for me to bust out a snow blower. Everyone and there dog that has a 4x4 drives like a bat outta hell just cause they can but no one remembers the minor detail 4x4 does not mean you can stop faster. Also, couldn't get the beer I wanted at the store yesterday cause it was so packed it wasn't worth it. I'm not even planning on drinking it. It's the Abyss. We just got it here on extremely limited supply... grr...

very quotable.

some of NOVA closed school today. I live in DC and commute out to work. I didn't even scrap, a minute to warm up with the defroster was all it took to wiper the 1/16" of ice away.

About the same here in Ft. Lauderdale. I do feel for our Northern friends. Remembering how miserable cold wet feet are.

I drove on solid ice this morning with more tonight and tomorrow. I'm in Central Ohio. We make Runway De-icer here at work so I'm taking some home for the walks. I left the XJ 4x4 at home and took the Civic...less mass to try and stop.

Apparently in Canada it's now snowing in metric and at much lower temperatures. Thank goodness that it still only snows in inches and in the 20's/30's here! ;-)

Thin coating of ice on everything here in MD... and friends 10 miles away have only wet pavement.

i found in my 88 cherokee that in 4x4 it stopped MUCH better because it locked the front and rear so BOTH had to lockup simultaneously and you could keep a little throttle and left foot brake if it was the fronts trying to lockup first.

If it ever starts snowing in metric here, I'm moving to Ecuador.

Hahahaha that's totally me, too!

I made sure I did my shopping early this weekend, before any of the "bread/milk" crowd could infect the stores.

Exactly the same here. I actually got called in to deliver pizza last night. 27 mile commute and the kids that lived in town weren't comfortable driving, but I will give them credit for staying off the road if they weren't sure if they could do it. Tips were indeed good I was getting 5 and 6 dollars a pop. I have yet to be called in today we'll see if that continues. Tomorrow I get to manage the store from 5 to close, so the Subie won't be getting as much of a work out.

Already got a lady in a Challenger out of a snow drift. Damn Chrysler traction control, you can't shut it off an romp on it. She let me drive it to get it out. Didn't help that she had summer tires. She was scared and was almost out of gas but I got her out with no problem.

I was annoyed however that no one else stopped to help her. I left my Cherokee in the middle of the street with the hazards on, but no one stopped and helped. Everyone drove around us.

I hate people.

OH, my work also won't call off and the posi is broke on my work van. I hope I get stuck and and I waste the companies precious money on a tow for making a stupid decision like that. My Sup says he's going to get a call at 6 am in case they decide to actually close down.

The question is whether there will be any business or not. I doubt there will be. It will probably just be me and my buddy swapping the spindles on my alty.

No work today or tomorrow (good thing we stocked up on vodka, wine and food.)

Hasn't snowed this much in at least 105 years.

With all the schools(even Purdue University), government offices, and the vast majority of businesses closed today - and tomorrows forecast looking even worse - we decided to preemptively close on Wednesday. So I did what any sensible fool would do & chose to drive the 50mi of rural roads home, rather than stay in town with friends.

Fortunately, the combination of decent visibility, snow tires, and absolutely no traffic on the road, made for some wonderful 55mph full-on rally drift action on the corners home!

meh

last night we got 6-8" of snow which is nothing. that is a dusting compared to normal. but so far on top of that is 2" of ice. whatever. i do not care, i know how to drive. my buddy was all like "omg you better put 200 pounds of stuff in your truck" referring to my little 2wd sonoma. he is paranoid.

i did some massive smoky dually burnouts today while plowing the driveway, i am sick of bald tires so i made them even worse to motivate me to get the new tires on the back.
