Here's some pics from my old fan.  I've got the plug wired up so white is neutral, as everything I've read says it should be.  Followed the pictures below that I took for red = black and white = white.

So what do I do here?  White on the bar from the triple-screws on the left?

There's no neutral on DC power.

What kind of fan is it? I only see a switch and a winding.

If this is an AC motor, which I suspect it is. Then you should probably have one wire going to each side of that coil winding, with the hot leg being wired through that switch.

I would bet the two thumb nuts in the bottom picture are where your power leads should go. Hot going to the lower one which is attached to the switch lever.

Maybe plug it into a power bar to do your testing so you have a remote switch and a circuit breaker working for you.

Ok, so it is an AC motor.

I gave you advice for an AC motor.

Ok, I'll start testing and then see if I can screw it together

Thank you

Fan appears A/C; sliding bar indicates 3-speed. Or OFF/LO/HI.
