I thought she was great. The only issue I had was too many N Americans when French would be more appropriate.
I was trying to figure out what Lady Gaga has to do with France.

The weird summer Olympics events are just weird. The weird winter Olympic events are nuts. Skeleton, anyone?
Women's curling is where its at.
I woke up Sunday morning to a metal band doing a kick ass performance, the fundies getting their panties in a bunch over another performance they don't understand, break dancing is an event it seems, and I read there's an equal number of men and women athletes finally.
I haven't watched Olympics since probably the 80s but I'm tempted.

How could I forget curling? It looks like the kind of sport that seems easy to pick up, but really difficult to master.
I'm already getting excited for 2026...

I heard it from the kitchen and openly said to my wife- That sounds a little like Gojira... And it was, and I was pleased.

Edit: We won....
And Canada's big star, SGA, is also the OKC Thunders big star. And Lu Dort, who is a monster defender, also plays for OKC.

My big revelation from Tokyo was 3x3 basketball. I've never been a big basketball fan in general, but something about the 3x3 game made it really easy for me to see how things develop. Plus Kelsey Plum was an absolute one-woman wrecking crew.
I'm pretty excited to see the inclusion of breaking. I have zero clue of what the format will be like, whether it will be freestyle or compulsory or what, but I'm really curious to see the state of that artform at the moment and what happens when its elevated to the highest level.
Also, can we include skate vert at this point? Street and park are fine, but vert would be an excellent showcase primetime event.
One thing I always tell people about basketball, if you want to see how plays develop with ball screens, back cuts, etc. Watch everyone who DOESN'T have the ball and it's easier what they are trying to do.
The Italian flagbearer lost his wedding ring during the opening ceremony. His apology to his wife is making women across the world swoon. (Hell, I kinda wanna marry him.)
If it doesnt show:

The bit at the bottom is the best, and I wish it translated.
Had to go find a translation.

A hot Italian guy "lost his wedding ring" at an international event notorious for casual sexual fraternization among the (very physically fit) participants.
Color me skeptical... was this captured on video anywhere?

Here are pictures before and after.
Be kinda stupid of him to try to announce it happened in such a public spot, in the most televised event of the world if it didn't actually happen
In reply to Duke :
My friend, you were the one crapping on something beautiful. Not me.
I will always defend love, if possible.

I did find it amusing that the surfers (and I presume all other outdoor aquatic sports) are in French Polynesia, about halfway between Chile and Australia.
Apparently they are all staying on a modified cruise ship.

Yeah- their stuff is cooler than the olympic village. They have a tattoo parlor and regular beds and E36 M3.

I heard that the rooms on the boat have the same crap beds as well.
No mention of that guys scrotum hanging out in the opening?
I liked seeing USA beat Germany in women's soccer
I liked watching mountain biking
USA looks slow to come out in basketball and then really turn it on
Im not a fan of skateboarding, watched yesterday and it seemed it was just one trick and that's it in the skatepark
But again, that opening ceremony was NUTS

Skateboarding had a weird format, I feel.
They got two 30 second runs where they could do trick after trick, then 4 or 5 individual tricks. Best run and best two tricks gave the ultimate score? May have been best single trick.
I turned women's qualifying on halfway through when they were past the runs and got real confused. Figured it out when I watched men's the next day.
BMX looks to be doing the same thing

Watching BMX now. Seems to be standard format? It's not Jam session like Xgames, it's two run/average score. I can't really tell how they're weighting tricks but it all seems pretty normal to me. Remains to be seen if they run Best Trick as part of the aggregate.
I didn't realize how much gaming goes into group events.
Have you guys heard any of the Steven Nedoroscik stuff? Was brought in solely for the pommel horse, only did that and did it so well that he gained men's Team USA Gymnastics two points overall for the total score, giving USA an overall medal for the first time in 16 years.
He may go on to win the gold as he is tied with the other highest placed guy in qualifying
