Yeah honestly I have no idea why they were pushing it other then to try and get it to bounce on the other car. My guess is that RoadRaceDart is right and there is no drivetrain.

Actually, behaviorists use it as a test for abstract reasoning and self awareness in animals. A common thing to do is put a sticker or dot on an animal without them knowing, then show them their reflection in the mirror. Certain animals like dolphins, elephants, and some apes will use the mirror to examine what is on themselves. What's interesting is chimpanzees. Most females will realize they're looking at themselves, but most males will not.
Most animals just think they're looking at another animal.
