I started the P90x program last night. It seems like a pretty good workout. The only bad part is the guy leading the workout is a tool. Thank God they have a mute feature.

Anyone else try it?

I have started the P9OX thing too. Just doing the workout not the whole diet too like they have with the program but i am eating much better.

I like it. Sometimes its hard to fit into my day but i feel better and notice some difference

I have to listen to it ever day when I work out. I would love to punch that little asshat so that he might shut up for a while.

As for the workout, it seems ok, but I think most people would be better off doing regular old cardio with some light strength training. P90X gets you all that, just with tons of odd filler.

I have been doing this with my girlfriend for a few weeks. We only really like the KenPo, the Cardio, the Yoga, and the Plyometrics. Pretty much everything else sucks. It does work though, I definitely feel it.

Eh... I know a half dozen ways to whip my ass into shape. Some better than others, all can work. But I don't do any of them, why would I do P90X?

I really need to start swimming again, and my daily 50 pushups, 100 situps when I wake up and when I go to bed. Now that I think about it, its been 3 years since I did that.

Actual conversation from two seconds ago:

Me: "Hey honey, Cathe (Friedrich)'s 'STS' program is pretty much the same theory as the P90X thing, right?"

Mrs. poo: "Yeah, except for the fact that the "P" in P90X stands for Pu*sy."

srsly. Laugh all you want...this chick will kick your ass. She's been consistantly kicking mine every night for a few weeks now, and it's showing:

I did it at the beginning of the summer and my liver started shutting down which killed my kidneys so I had to stop.

I've been doing Glutes & Legs, Core, and Strength classes that are virtually the same as Cathe Friedrich's. Unbelievable results. I've lost 14 lbs since Christmas, and I've had 20 year olds at the gym ask me how I got so fit. Best exercise for producing results - squats with weights. I haven't had an ass like this since my 20s.

Funny, I asked a trainer the other day about P90X, specifically their supplements. Her response? Its great for the part of the day you're doing it. What about the rest of the day?

Her point is simply that, you need to eat well all day on top of working out and if the supplements you are taking are only for when you excersize then they aren't helping that much the rest of the day.

She said she uses Advocare products, specifically because they work, they're used by professional athletes, who are not paid to take them and they are tested to be safe and that they are what they say they are. Honestly, if Drew Brees has been taking them since college, turning down endorsements in the process, then there has to be something worthwhile there, right?

I don't work out very often, but when I do, I work out with car parts.

Anyway, I've been taking the supplements, following their dietary plan (eating more often and in the proper ratios) and I've lost 30 lbs in the last 8 months. Just by altering my diet, taking the supplements and biking to work occasionally. The best part is that I haven't lost muscle mass, which is important for supporting your metabolism. So the weight isn't as impressive as the inches I've lost on my waist, etc.

Remember that weight is one of many numbers you can use to judge your body's healthiness. It isn't the only one.
