Like many other people, Pandora probably can't believe you don't like the Beatles.
Whenever I get a rabid Beatles fan, I like to compare lyrics with them- "She loves me yeah, yeah, yeah" Vs "But he can't be a man cause he don't smoke the same cigarrettes as me"- and then talk writing talent.
It also makes'em crazy when I suggest Ringo has done the best work, post Beatles.
Sorry for the hijack. And the troll.
Don't get me wrong, I don't not like the Beatles. I just think it's interesting that Pandora will slip in some later Beatles periodically.
I like Pandora, but it frustrates me, mostly because of my crappy phone I think. The ads pop up and I can rarely close them without opening the damn ad. Otherwise I really like it, I'll hook it up to the speakers at work after the boss leaves, much better than the lame pop radio that they normally play.
I've got a ton of channels depending on my mood, but my favorites have got to be: Throwdown, The Black Keys, Seasick Steve, PG Comedy, Beastie Boys, Reverend Horton Heat, Halestorm, Tiger Army, and oddly enough, George Strait.
Again, depends entirely upon my mood.
My Pandora on shuffle just went from Drive-By Truckers to Los Straitjackets to Sex Pistols to Wu Tang Clan. I think I have weird taste in music.

I want to subscribe to that station!
Reading all this I may have to upgrade to Pandora 1. The random mainstream songs dropped in just piss me off and make me switch screens away from what I'm doing to "dislike".
I've currently got a mix of Flaming Lips, Flat Duo Jets, Talking Heads, Los Lobos, The Clash & The Carolina Chocolate Drops spinning.

It's good but can't account for mental disorders.

So they even play crap, huh?
yeah, I have about a dozen channels - "Birds Lament" has opened my eyes to a lot of electronic music I was unaware of.
I do wish the Beastie Boys channel played more 80s and 90s hip hop and less 90s alternative.
Theres a DIY how to for installing an Aux In jack on the stock stero deck in my car on another car forum I visit - I did this just so I could use Pandora in the car...now I just gotta get a smartphone...
EDIT:
There are a lot of songs that overlap channels I listen to - I have the Red Hot Chilli Peppers channel on my iPad, and also Beastie Boys mentioned above...every so often, a RHCP song will pop up on the BB channel, and vice versa. If Im in the mood for some Beasties, I dont necessarily wanna hear "Under the Bridge". Can anyone tell me - If I "dislike" a song on one channel, does that dislike the song on all channels, or just the one youre in?

My Beastie Boys channel pretty much only plays 80s and 90s hip hop and like no '90s alternative but it seems to play 30 songs on shuffle.
I have Sirius XM in the Miata, but i'm starting to wonder if i should rip that out and just install some nice phone docking stations on all the cars and roll with Pandora.
The only thing is that so far i haven't been able to really re-create Sirius's "BPM" station.
I listen to Pandora when I lift weights. That way I can vote "like" or "dislike" between sets. I've discovered some bands I'd never heard of before and discovered that I actually like bands that I didn't know I liked previously.
I wish I had better cellular reception in my area; I'd cancel Sirius in my car and just use Pandora all the time!
At least it makes no pretensions about what it truly is--a box of evils unleased upon mankind!
Yes, because music is evil.
You don't need a smartphone to run Pandora, of course. I use an iPod Touch in the garage. On the road, I tend to listen to audiobooks instead.
I do find it funny that Pandora acts differently on the computer. It'll pause once in a while and prod you to make sure you're listening. Never seems to do that on the iPod.

I noticed the same behavior on my iPhone. I figured it was because they assumed you would always be near where your phone is.

I was never fond of Stevie Ray Vaughn, until I heard some of his stuff that never got regular radio play.

I really don't get it. Doc Watson to Lonesome River Band to Kruger Brothers to Punch Brothers to... ACDC? How the hell does that work? I've hit that thumbs down button on probably the entire Back in Black album.
Note: I actually love that album, but not on my bluegrass station!
There should be an option to move that song to another station, in the preferences menu. It will automatically thumbs down that dong in the current station and thumbs up it in the other one.
I love Pandora.
I have a grandfathered in unlimited data plan too. When I am not streaming NPR.. it has Pandora on
edit
The only thing I do not like about pandora... even though I pay for the service, it insists on checking I am still around listening to it. really a pain to stop what I am doing to click yes
In reply to mad_machine:
Really? If you're paying for Pandora One it shouldn't do that. Mine will go for hours with no "you still there" message. I don't think it ever stops until it has a wi-fi hiccup. I've accidentally left it on at night when I go to bed (switch off the amp and the pre-amp, forget to turn off the Squeezebox) and it's still there churning out songs the next morning.

I love using my Touch for a radio.
but might need a smart phone to replace my sirius/xm radio in my car...
Still thinking about it.
Best possible Pandora station:
"Savoy Brown".
Good for unlimited garage work.
Mostly used Pandora whilst studying for finals in college. Hit the Beethoven station pretty hard, and switch to bluegrass when I get tired of classical.
Haven't played with it for almost a year now... gonna have to break it out tonight.
