That bit of satire is as plausible as any other theory I've heard from a thousand internet know-nothings all gobbling like turkeys.

In other news Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead.

Having hit more than one during my so called off road motorcycle racing 'career' I can say with authority that even small ones are more than a match for anything we puny humans can cobble together.

From my personal observations over the years it's become pretty clear that once a passenger car (and that includes megadollar P cars made of fancy composites) is going more than about 50 MPH its construction is academic, it probably won't save its occupants and they are pretty much in the hands of Lady Luck. (I'm not including purpose built race cars with cages, that's a whole different kettle of fish.) If they were going anywhere near 80-100 MPH and had a sudden catastrophic hydraulic failure causing a loss of steering then I'm not surprised the pole and the tree disassembled the car that way.

If you catch where the Lamborghini appears, it just pulled onto that street. Looks to have begin accelerating pretty good, but still not terribly fast.

Also judging by where the tree is inside the CGT, it split when it hit the tree.(bark is torn off, tree is leaning a lil)

Trees= the original carbon fiber

I'd like mine to say

You'll notice the charity has a photo of him in a Always Evolving Performance T-Shirt. Nice way of honoring both men, I suppose.

Walker's Charity seems very common sense and a good use of funding. I imagine it will become a huge organization with the influx of cash it gets from the Fast and Furious 6 profits.

Ya know- I'm actually liking what's coming out about Walker. Come to think of it, he was NEVER in the tabloids or caught with his penis where it didn't belong. He seemed like a normal guy that just happened to have a pile of cash. It's really helped me rethink my perception of him- which was pure hatred from his lack of acting ability. I want to punch myself every time he says "brah" in FF2.

After reading a lot of the E36 M3 talk going on, i decided to actually do my own visual reconstruction of the accident. I looked at the videos, found the exact place where the wreck occurred, the direction it was coming from, the curb, light pole, and 2-3 trees they hit. There's a pretty clear trajectory once they start hitting objects in the videos. Google Maps coordinates: 34.453271,-118.578931

My conclusion is that what they were doing was probably no different than what I or any number of other 'enthusiast' drivers would have been doing in a fun car on that piece of road. Honestly, it was a pretty much ideal place to be fooling around, as public streets go. 5 lanes wide, flat, and no traffic. The only thing i am very unsure of is how fast they were going around the bend before the straight they crashed on. I can see an arc of losing it on the bend and ending up where they did. I can also see getting on it on the straight and losing it from tirespin alone, but considering the context (drivers' racing experience, type of vehicle) i think the bend is more likely to be involved.

So, im changing my opinion on the subject. By my own standards (feel free to hate me for them), Mr. Rodas was doing a pretty decent job picking 'a time and a place' for hooning around. Even if you assume that they were GOING to wreck, the way that they hit, and the fire that ensued, are both against the odds. Death was unlikely and serious injury was not even guaranteed. Was 600hp a factor in the wreck? RWD? High confidence levels from racing experience and familiarity with the road? I think yes. But it was just the very specific circumstances of THIS wreck that caused the deaths, and ultimately, it looks like the DECISIONS that led to them horsing around on that stretch of road are not much different than the ones i've been living through, without a scratch, for 15 years. Those DECISIONS are how i relate to this, since the minutiae (which were lethal in this instance) would be different in every case.

So, when i look at that these 2 deaths, i pretty much see guys just like me who rolled snake eyes on a pair of thousand-sided dice. The odds were strongly in their favor to at least SURVIVE, but sometimes you just lose.
