"All ya'll" is for extra emphasis trying to get the attention of a group.
Accurate. "Y'all simmer down" is step one. "All y'all simmer down" much more serious.

No, no, it's still "y'all."
Source: Unfortunately, I'm from an area that uses "y'all."
Nothing wrong with y'all.

It could be you'uns or youse.
I'll stick with y'all and stay down here.

Only if you live within a 90 minute drive of Pittsburgh.

That's a no from me dude. Definitely sticking with ya'll.

And this is a surprise to you? How long have you been here?
But that's part of what makes this forum fun. Our derailments usually go off onto meaningless tangents about nothing all that important, rather than acidic name calling. And if the latter starts to happen, someone forces it towards the former.

Sooo I can't decide if the tread was derailed necessarily because we were talking about ruining forums......

You must be new here. The challenge smack talk thread derailed to discussions regarding who's 25 year old ford had the best air conditioning by the 25th post

And, "all ya'll better just simmer down RIGHT NOW!" means somebody's mom's getting upset.

It's often followed by " the switch".
Speaking of people who ruin forums, and hoping this is still that thread, it drives me nuts when a mod, or poster bitches about a thread meandering, or changing subject the way they often do. I like to point out that when we speak in person, conversations naturally ebb and flow and rarely does the topic stay the same from beginning to end.
That's usually when they tell me to shut up and stay on topic.

I thought it was a rule that you can't stay on topic in Off-Topic?
You'll need to log in to post.
