This morning, I got to play with the cameras to watch a full grown Red Tail Hawk attack, kill, and devour a full grown duck. Very entertaining. I've been watching for about two hours now.

Just thought I'd share.

I had a falcon drop a robin out of the tree in my back yard, last week, while I was working on my bike in the driveway. Didn't get to see him eat it, as he picked it up and flew away.

A not so good picture. This is the male. The female who did the killing (I think. Not a bird expert. I'm interested, so correct me if I'm wrong) was hidden by branches. There quality is low because the focus is slightly off.

Remains of duck. Not very gruesome. Bones and guts.

Awesome! We have a falcon that lives around our building that I see often circling around my 14th floor window. One day I watched it tuck wings, dive and nail the crap out of a bird at a pond across the street. Predatory birds are amazing animals.

Here, the hawk has the duck by the neck and is dragging it for the kill.

Hawk is down low and you can see the duck extend northward.

At this point, they are directly under one of my cameras.

I'm still watching them in the tree.

The Red Tail is one of my totem animals. Obviously I love birds of prey.

I just don't understand why the birds are angry.

I had a hawk pounce on a mouse that was literally at my feet one day. I was around the corner of the building from the hawk so he didn't see me till he thumped the landing. The thump is what got my attention.

I don't know who was more surprised, me, the hawk or the mouse.

BTW after sitting and looking at each other for about 10 seconds he let the mouse go and flew off - or so I thought. He came right back and landed on a tree limb just around the corner and watched for the mouse, and me, until he got the mouse again.

Note to self, if I ever wanna rob the place NSperlo works, employ hawks as distraction...

Cool. I was thinking you might have been monitoring naughty supermodels, but this is good too.

Beat me too it.

Thanks for sharing Nsperlo! I watched a red shouldered hawk snatch a mockingbird off of our fence one day. Or rather, I heard it and saw the explosion of feathers he left behind.

Conquest, we have LOTS if cameras, and barbed wire. Suspicious vehicles are reviewed by the FBI. I wish you luck.

T2, I'm not willing to delve into that aspect.

Other things I've watched:
vehicle accidents
police chases
police beatings (drug dealer resisting)
shootings (most unsuccessful (most))
dogs getting rodents
ducks fornicating (I think I have a video)
prostitutes soliciting
prostitutes working
* cheating husbands running from wife (always fun to watch)

I'm sure I could come up with a longer list, but thats what I can think of now.

We have a falcon living next to our house. Though he's a little noisy sometimes he's still my favorite neighbor, though he does get the robins worked up when he steals their babies.

Its Boeing now. No. You'd never guess. Most locals don't even notice us and if they do, they don't know what we do.
