Does anybody with reasonable Photoshop knowledge want to try a color change? My poor old MR2 is looking more and more unloved and will eventually get paint. I'm thinking it might look good in a color that was never an option on these cars. Lacking even the most rudimentary photoshop skills, I throw myself at the mercy of the court.
This isn't my car - my car has no gloss (also no rear spoiler, and no body kit, and mine isn't a t-top and sits a little lower, etc.) - but it's close enough:
I'm imagining a very dark, classic BRG style green, more or less like on this '67 E-type, if not a little darker yet:
The wheels on the red car are similar to mine, and I'm thinking they'd look good in a soft gold like the VHT wheel paint that our own Trent sprayed on his Mini wheels (although I would paint the entire wheel and would not polish the lips):
Anybody feel like taking a swing at it just for giggles?
Two minute quicky. I can do better with 1/2 hour tonight, this lost a lot of the reflections. These are too small to paint a dark color in today's traffic. Also you live in a green environment, poor contrast. Green is for desert dwellers. The red is boring though. All the factory schemes on AW11s are.

Those cars did come in a similar color for one year: Jade Green Metallic with gold lower. A good friend just bought a fairly mint one. Let me dig up a photo.

It looks much greener in person.

Thanks for the effort! Looking to go a lot darker than that. I don't really drive in "today's traffic" if by that you mean urban areas full of aggressive drivers. We have a lot of bicyclists around here and traffic is generally fairly mellow. Also, my high school car was a motorcycle; I was taught early on to assume that nobody could see me, and if they could, that they didn't care. So far, so good.

Yeah, they did offer that scheme, known in the MR2 world as Sherwood Toning, and it looks nice, but it's not for me. I'm thinking of a single color rather than a two-tone, in a much darker green, without the muted silver/grey element, and with no metallic.
A coworker came up with this in a few minutes. This white car looks and sits a little more like mine (other than color) than the red one above, but the lack of contrast makes it look extra flat. He nailed the wheel color, though!

Parked next to a Firebird Formula. And they say the perfect two-car garage doesn't exist...

Heh. That was at a show we attended recently called Rad Revival. Excellent selection of cars and a damned good time. Our group of friends took quite a few cool cars.

Nice little wagon! 3T-C or 4A-C powered? Plenty of potential either way. I actually had those same Gotti clones on the MR2 for a little while. They were only 14x6 and had the wrong offset, so they got sold off, but they sure polished up well.

That one is an '82 with the 3TC. The '83 sedan behind it is a 4AC car. Both very fun (and glacially slow).
