So you're saying i went out to the van in my pajamas in the snow and dug around my scrap bucket for naught. Bah humbug
In reply to patgizz:Not for naught , you drove home the fact that this community is the best CYA in a pinch hive mind on the webs. Although some people would apparently drop the pan to do an oil change instead of pulling the drain plug. You also have a van full of unobtanium?

No, I'm saying that since the new Watts replacement valve worked perfectly, my work was done in less than a minute and there are zero chances or wrecking the piping as designed.
Also, I have a spare valve now, without a handle, if you want it!

I tried telling everyone that I ordered it from Amazon after checking with watts to make sure they were the same design, but the reading comprehension on this thread was the worst I've ever seen.
I made it through page 1 before i was done reading "change the valve" posts. I even deleted mind because i felt like an ass about it, so i fished that valve out of the abyss that is my work van. I didn't fail to comprehend, i just didn't bother reading
The problem was this was a plumbing thread, not a car thread. Had it been a car thread, the reading comprehension would have been perfect.
I can't even do a decent plumbers crack.
