There was a slight discussion about a PNW meet and greet. Weeeeeeeellllll how about November 7th at Griots Garage in Tacoma?
It's free, it's not structured, it's "German Day"!
I know it's a bit far for just about everyone involved (face it, if we all lived in the same city we'd have met by now and there'd have passed ordinances preventing further meets). I just thought it'd be cool to kick tires and shoot the breeze with some of you weirdos and see some of your projects in person.
Thoughts?
I am gonna be a wimp and say a 500 mile round trip is a bit much for me.
I'll be there. Mr. Balls, you need to get there. I'll buy you and Burrito lunch if you make the trip!
I'm game if they allow Swedish cars. I don't know if I trust my German car to make it that far.
I should be able to do that.
Bgkast: shouldn't be a problem. I usually bring my Impala to whatever random day they have and call it macaroni.
It's been my experience that the "days" are just "suggested themes" and not "the rule". Last time I went they had a "British Day" and I parked the land yacht between a 2002 and a P1800. Unfortunately neither owner was willing to trade me vehicles
Don't currently nor have I ever owned a German car, though it's only a two hour drive...
We'll see, likely that I work that morning :P
I got a text from aclockworkgarage. He's in with an A3 TDI, assuming he doesn't have to work.
Not a bad turnout so far
Put me down for a solid maybe.
Just bringing the thread back to the top for a friendly reminder:
This weekend and it looks like 70-80% chance of rain!
Good times
Wait...this weekend or November 7th?
AAH! November 7th! I'm glad you had your coffee.
Sorry.... woke up at 2:30 this morning..
grumble
insert more excuses here...
sigh..
Definite maybe with the Saturn and the famdamily.
I might bring the kiddos down in the minivan of boredom.
Workin, boo.
Though my wallet is happy, the Evo, she's not so great on the em pee gees.
Dang, didn't see this 'til now; have a dinner party that day, and am starting a new job the following Monday. Just seems... like a full weekend.
I have the German car, but not the German time management skills.
Ok, caffeinated, well rested, double checked callendar...
This weekend! Can't wait to see ya'll there
And Saturday offers us only a 20% chance of rain! :)
My car looks better in the rain, so I'm hoping it does.
I'll be there.
Party starts at 8AM, and I'll try to be there close to that start time to get parking. I have no idea how full this is going to get, but I'm assuming it will get pretty jammed if you're not there early.
Hungary, your Impala sort of counts as German. It's close. Bring your "For Sale" sign.
Hey! The owner's manual is in German, that counts
The ignition switch is acting up, but I think I can get her out to the grounds. I wonder how far back that GM recall goes...
I am most likely out. The Yugo is bleeding me dry and hasn't really panned out the way I was hoping. If by some miracle I get my first megasquirt project to go from "Sitting in a field for 15 years" to "Totally awesome, reliable, and ready for a 300 mile trip" in 3 or 4 nights, you guys will be the first to know.
I didn't see this at first. ... I stay in builds mostly. Put me down as a maybe.

If I brought my Toyota from the builds section, would you change that to a "ok, possibly"?
In reply to Hungary Bill:
Since ill be rocking my toyota truck, possibly! lol
Really depends on how the snow is.
might make it if the stars align with the kiddos
