The fact that he hacked the crashbar into swiss cheese isn't the first thing you noticed?
how does one get a car with that much roll cage, and that little crashbar inspected anyway (Oh, a really big payoff, as he said he "cannot afford to get it inspected")
This misleading title reeled me in, and I so wasted a mouse click.

New Hampshire is pretty lenient with their safety and emissions checks. IIRC, they don't do emissions checks on pre-OBDII cars anyways.

For me at least the first thing that comes up when I Google that # is this thread
The add has been flagged for removal so I can't view this masterpiece.
It really is a Porsche replica, so I don't think there's anything about the ad you could flag for; it's just annoying and delusional, but if that were in the CL terms of service...
Anyhow, though there are never any pictures in the actual car ad, the number search brought up this, which appears to have the alleged 917: http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/aos/3513268189.html
In reply to ransom:
It's always flagged because the owner spazzes out on keywords.
Also, that thing looks about as much like a 917 as my left big toe.

Yup....probably built on a VW pan....I just threw up in my mouth.
Laser kit car.
Thread on Pelican from Spring 2011, evidently one of Car Wash Boy's earlier ads neglected to mention it wasn't a real 917. Hmm. Thread was started by one Mr. "73Javelin" from the PNW..

did you guys notice the terratrip computer screwed to the passenger side of the dash? I was looking at the roll bar and I'm a bit confused about the pic from the front but from the rear it looks right. I'm wondering, given the actual racing seat, decent looking cage, and rally computer, if that isn't a car someone developed somewhat for rally use and was purchased and this guy tried to turn it back into a street car?
either way if the cage would pass tech you would be a decent ways towards a functioning rally car.
also note the well fabricated console and tall ebrake. compared to the level of fab on other parts (that air intake box thing?) idk, makes me think he wasn't responsible for that stuff maybe. hard to believe someone who would spray their car primer black and can't afford tires to get it inspected would take the time to do details like rally computer, fab'd console, and huge cage...

Contacted a guy about a set of Del Sol seats. He wants $260 for them. Is it just me or is that delusional considering they are old used seats?
