This may very well be the nicest 2002 Buick Century in the state of Georgia. However, I don't think that justifies its $10,000 asking price, and that's coming from someone who has been recommending GM W bodies in multiple threads lately!

But look at those stick on portholes, and it is listed as RWD. That has to count for something.

Gross! I don't know why but I can't stand that. Gah. At 1,000$ I would think about it.

Inoperable with a flood title, mismatched front and rear bumpers, yet somehow clean inside and out.

Oh, it's a Subaru WRX. Of course it is priced well above what it should be.

That abomination has been popping up every so often for at least 5, maybe more years now. I guess he's been trying to sell it since he finished it. I think the price started at over $20K. Honestly he's best of parting out the non ruined bits, I seriously can't imagine anyone other than a Lemons team wanting it.

shift gears and drink beers all day I just though the posting was funny

Craigslist add said: Up for sale today is a one of a kind vehicle. This is chrysler PT cruiser!!!!!!!!! For those that don't know about these fantastic rides...let me explain. First off this is a5 speed manual. That's right you can shift gears and drink beers all day in the classic. Only problem is trying to keep tires on it because of all the big smoking burn outs you will do. For the men if you buy this car it comes with a complimentary stick...that's to smack away all the women that you can't fit in the back..trust me this is needed. So if your looking for a great all around ride that you can race, jump, pick up the ladies, or just plain send it look no further!!!! $

How about an extremely ratty 1972 Pontiac Ventura for $5000?

https://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/cto/6086519892.html

Meth Smoking Craigslist Dude said: 72 Pontiac Ventura project car all original except dual exhaust has. Has 307 motor , solid body have a 350 truck motor for car and bucket seats and crager S S rims. Have bill of sale and last registration car needs to be towed. $5000.00 or looking to trade for camaro, 70-72 monte, or Pontiac serious inquires only.

Crager... Check.

Comes with a SBC 350 that's not in it... Check.

Has one too many zeros in the price... Check.

Wants to trade for something that's worth WAAAAAAY more than this thing... Check.

This has been on Craigslist for over a year now. I'm hoping it's a "See honey? I AM trying to sell it!" deal, because FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS for a assumingly non-running 1972 base model economy coupe with no sporting intentions that cost a couple grand less when new is definitely delusional.

Idiot Seller said: Classic 2nd gen Firebird with a 3spd Automatic turbo 400 transmission and only 51K original miles on the chassis. This Bird has a recently installed 1970 Buick 455 engine from an Electra, depicted. The engine has the original smog free carb from the last year of production before all the power robbing regulations came into play. Also, equipped with an aftermarket steering wheel. Interior is in good condition. Paint was primed, but then previous owner rattle canned it. Make it your own color of choice. Body is straight, even the undercarriage. Mufflers and pipes are in great condition. Nice modern CD radio and four speakers sound great! If I get the bird painted, or put any other substantial investment into it, that will alter the bottom line price. Sorry but this isn't a late model rapidly depreciating car. Collectors know the less it needs the more you're going to pay. Keep this in mind when you balance price vs. what you can do yourself. I have $5617.19 in documented receipts of all repairs already done on this car since I bought it. Plus another $330 spent that I lost the receipts for. Yes you guessed it, I'm losing money if I sell it for less than $8947.19. If I don't sell it I'm keeping it. No problem.
This guy has been trying to sell this flat green Turd Bird on local CL and Facebook groups for over a year now. He thinks that his 1981 BASE Firebird is worth all the money, as if it was a 1977 black and gold Trans Am. Sorry dude, just because you swapped in some greaseball Buick 455 in it doesn't make it a "classic". This thing is a parts car or $2000 beater AT BEST, no matter how much money you wasted on it. And whenever he posts it up, people try to tell him this, and he freaks out. Crapball car? Check. Delusional price based on Barrett-Jackson auction results for models with actual value? Check. Defensive, yet aggressive 'tude? Check. I have a feeling that he'll be "Keeping it. No problem." for a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG time.

7 months later, and the guy still has this pile.

Still Delusional Seller said: '81 Firebird with 53K original miles on the chassis, 69k on engine. Transplanted Buick 455 engine and turbo 400 Auto transmission both from the 1970 Electra shown. Also, equipped with grant steering wheel. Body, undercarriage and exhaust are in great condition. Body is straight and steel is very clean. Upper exhaust pipes replace and reattached with proper parts. Installed inner door panels. Brand new 650cfm Edelbrock carburetor and air intake installed. Full tune up with new wires, plugs, point conversion kit and cap and rotor. New gauges installed, volts, oil pressure, temp. Reverse light function and Park safety switch returned to working order. Brakes repaired, transmission oil flushed. Oil changed regularly. Replaced radiator with one sized for a 455 engine. Added a fan shroud, and a washer fluid container. Interior is in good condition. Body is straight, Mufflers and pipes are in good condition. Nice modern CD radio and four speakers sound great!

The kicker? Now he wants MORE money for it... $12,500 to be exact. Because appreciation, yo.

Some fresh pics since the originals got taken down:

It's still the same base Firebird wearing the best Ace Hardware Farm Implement Green money can buy.

Yup, still ugly from this angle too.

Here's the "modern CD stereo" from 1994.

Rusty Cragars really are one of the staples of cars in this thread.

I'll give you guys an update on this heap in another 6 months when it's still for sale, for even more money.

Good ad, well written, and interesting project. Still, with real, running 996 Turbos dipping below $40,000 on the regular, I don't see $35,000 in a not-very-complete project based on a salvage title car to build a Turbo cabriolet out of a 1999. If I'm missing something here, let me know.

1999 Porsche 911 Convertible turbo project - $35000

Edit: $5k more:

In reply to Mike:

Wow, that is bad. No transmission means you are likely looking at another 3k minimum and then you still have to assemble and paint your salvage title abomination. I got a street value of less than 10k. It would be a great donor for a Boxster with a blown motor, assuming the turbo motor will even fit.
