Any interest in another? I know someone who was selling a pair of 1966 Datsun 1600s. I asked him for information and if you want I will pass it along to you.
Goodness, more than I can count. Part of it comes from buying them when I couldn't afford them, others from just dumb finicial decisions and a handful from circumstance.
1979 Scirocco. Loved that car, but it kept breaking and I knew it would bury me. I just loved the lines on those MK1s
1982 RX-7; GSL with the limited slip, lowered. My first real sports car. Owner finianced it for me and I couldn't afford it then, still bought it. Didn't even sell it. Got impounded when the rear end disintgrated and I couldn't get it towed.
2 Seperate 5 series Bimmers. 520 and 528. Euro modelds and couldn't bring them back from Germany.
1970 Kombi Camper Bus. Too cool not to have, but couldn't afford it. Then it blew up and I sold it for scrap.
1972 Kombi. Bought my senior year of college. Same deal, too cool not to have. It was risky but I was graduating soon and would have a job. Dumped all of its oil on the way to school a week before graduation. Coulnd't afford to get it towed, much less fixed.
Right now my 66 El Camino is sitting in storage and has for the last year. I am adamant that i will not be selling that car. I have a much better job now and can afford to keep it until I can get back home and drive it.
A few years ago I bought a ratty Jeep Wrangler on the cheap. I cleaned up, added a new top and swapped in a new engine. I had never intended to keep it because I needed to have my driveway paved and it was all about he generating some cash. It paid for the driveway, but I haven't been able to find a decent Jeep for a fair price since.
Yes. My truck. It was a 2000 Dakota 2wd, but I had it for 11 years and it was in great shape, with low miles for a truck. I lost my job and my knee-jerk decision was to sell since I had a good DD. Little did I know, I would only be out of work for a couple weeks. You never realize how much you use a truck until its gone.
I can think of three off the top of my head. First is my old Camaro. Second are two high end as in nearly $2000 each rifles that I had to sell for practically nothing so that I could pay my dads rent.
1960 Austin Healey Bugeye Sprite. Had a blast for a year and then some idiot offers 4 times what I had in the car.
Bruce
I am sitting this this exact situation right now. I need to really sell both of my trucks, the 97 PSD F250 and 95 Dakota, but I know as soon as I sell either of them, I will want them back. But the prospect of having nearly 8k plus in my pocket.......
Just advertised and sold a specially modified MGB gearbox that allows you to put the 4 synchro transmissioninto the early cars without having to cut the tunnel on the early car.
I know this is going to come back on me.

More times than I care to admit...
It does suck, but if you are doing it for a good reason it makes it a little better. Like paying the rent, good reason. Buying an engagement with the dough and having her leave you a year later, well, that's a different thing altogether.
Yes, I have, and fairly recently. I actually felt BETTER after it was gone because I knew I did the right thing. I had mixed emotions for sure, but it was the right decision and I feel good about that. I do still miss it though...
yup... i'm at that pre-pre stage right now on some bicycle stuff... but know I gota sell it to fund the next project/build (again a bike) lol
I can't sell anything. I kept my first car, planning on a build thread for it soon. My current DD needs to be replaced but I love it so much.
I have Jay Leno syndrome
With the exception of my 74 impala (I would get another just not that car) yes. It usually occurs when you see a similar one 10 years later and it is now a classic selling for 5x what you sold it for.
I sorely miss my 70 1/2 Falcon 2 dr sedan. It ran great, was complete and structurally sound, but had rotten rear wheel arches. I didn't have the time money or skills to properly finish it, and I know the guy that bought it was best possible buyer; a guy with a collection of '70/'71 Torinos and Fairlanes that was willing to drive across PA to buy it sight unseen and drive it back home.
Nope no regrets, I have thought that I would have regrets about a few things but never have after said item sold
1977 Capri. I sold it because the guy that I bought it from never had the title and I didn't want to go through a bonded title. Then when I was selling it, a guy with some DMV connections found out who had the title but only after I sold it to some kid that probably made a mini stock car out of it.
My biggest selling regret was a mid 80's Telecaster. I loved the way it played and sounded. I don't even remember why I sold it. I guess it comes with being a college student at the time.

I've sold a couple of guitars I wish I could get back - but my 1980 Les Paul Custom most readily comes to mind. I eventually replaced it with a '71 Standard, but it's just not the same...
Cars - mainly my conversion van, but I had just bought the Cummins POS and needed the driveway space... boy I wish I could change those purchase & sale choices...
