PSA: Don't lose your wallet

I left my wallet on top of my rental car at a gas station and drove away.  1000 miles from home.

10/10 do not recommend.  Sigh...

Ouch. 

Sounds painful.  I wish you the bestest, quickest possible resolution of this unfortunate situation.

i left my wallet on top of a gas pump once. I made it to the next freeway exit before I realized my mistake. It had $100 in it which was a lot for me at the time and of course all the cards and such. I called the gas station and the worker went out and found it. I headed back and got it and everything was still in there. I tried to give her the cash but she wouldn't take it, not even $20. I didn't want to insult her so I just thanked her profusely and left. That was really nice of her. 

A friend recently lost his wallet while, I believe, in the hospital.

Where’d it go? Who took it?

I forget the whole story, but someone found it in the gutter. Hope you get similar luck.
