I suspect they were the cars that were waiting for computer modules before they could actually run and be delivered.

At least they are new cars, not a bunch of classics.  Yes, it would be nice to harvest parts. Surprised they can't be sold as scrap/salvage to co-part or something.

I assume it's because GM's insurance company is going to pay for the damages, and literally no company wants any part of the liability that would come with selling these components.
