Get yourself some blank Gildan 2000s from a local custom shirt shop. That's what most decent printed tees are, and they're pretty cheap blank. Come in a huge range of colors.
I buy Gildan Heavy Cotton , or Ultra Cotton tees at the local Michael's or Joannes Fabric stores. They put them on sale for $2 regularly.
The 2000 is the Ultra Cotton. I'm just about to order a few hundred of them for Mitty gimme shirts.
The Duluth Trading ones are awesome, but on the heavy side. If you want lighter I'll second the Lands End ones as fantastic.

name looked fimiliar so i had too check and yup gildan is the tag on our company t shirts. didnt even know they would sell blanks!
I'm hit or miss on the Duluth ones. I have some that are 15+ years old, but the newer ones (5 years old) don't seem as good, and I sort of hate the whole longtail gimmick (if I wanted a tall size, I could order one). But they are definitely durable. Otherwise I've had good luck with Jerzees brand but those are also pretty old and may not represent what they sell now.

I like the Target Mossimo shirts, American Apparel, and J. Crew. They all come in the slimmer cut that I like too.
I don't know who supplies the shirts, but the Homage shirts are fantastic if you like prints.
