They're fine with most other, different, fish, even female Bettas. But, don't put them with another male Betta.
so you can't put two males together or the Betas will fight to be alpha?

The wife and I had two of them once. We had a rectangular tank, and put a piece of clear polycarbonate plastic in the middle and put one on each side.
It was funny, when we put them in, they fought for 3 days against the divider, would only eat a little bit, then go back to fighting. After a few days they got pretty tired and gave up for a few days, but after that they would spend a few minutes every day butting heads against the divider before doing their own thing.
It was fun to watch, and they did it for a year or so before we moved and gave them away to a neighbour.
