They probably hibernate underground.
If they get that big, they're earning their rent by my estimation, and they mostly only come out at night.

Used a magazine to give an idea on how large this thing was. I fed it other bugs for a few weeks, then it made an egg sack and then vanished. My wife suggested I move the sack away from the house. A few days later there were hundereds or thousands of tiny spiders in the surrounding area.
Got to visit Minnesota last week. Lots of impressive sights.
She is obviously not worried about Helene.
Just received this 1852 clock. My GGG-Grandfather bought it new and it has been in the family running ever since. Fortunately, my great uncle documented the various names and dates and put it the small drawer. Somewhere in the last 170+ years, the weights were installed backward so it didn't run well and gonged too fast. It runs perfectly now that the weights have been switched.
Gathering images for my 96 year old mother in law's service who passed last week. They entertained a lot, lived a very full life.
Shopping for my mom and my family. Doing her shopping started during Covid and seems to have become "the way".

Here's it's NH relative. Caught this juicy unit hanging out under the deck railing snacking on a caterpillar this afternoon. My wife is very disturbed that one of the "dock" spiders is this close to the house. LOL.

I met this fellow at Lake Placid, he's a photographer. With the ship's open cockpit, light weight and great power, it's perfect for dropping into tiny Adirondack lakes.
