Later this year I'm flying up to D.C. Last time I was up there, I flew into Reagan National and was happy with the experience. Any reason to consider Dulles instead? I'll be driving over to Maryland. (BWI is kind of in the wrong direction, though.)

I went to Maryland a few weeks ago to pick up a car and the seller told me that Reagan was the best choice ... Worked out great.

The Air & Space Museum and Five Guys are good arguments for Dulles, but I didn't think about the traffic. While we flew into Reagan, we drove up to Dulles for the museum. You're right, traffic was a bear. I want to say it was Sunday, too. Is it always that bad?
Lots of work going on with 7 and the new metro line going to Dulles but going back toward DC you will go right by the Aston martin dealer
I picked up my girlfriend 2 months ago from Reagan at 8am and actually had no issue getting in or out coming from 295, also if you have not seen much of DC it is visually the best way to do it.
event or other? +1 for DCA over dulles. Before you completely rule it out, it's also pretty dang easy to loop over to I70 from BWI and head toward Frederick if you're headed someplace north of DC in MD. Also a pretty good pick your own JY in Mt. Airy if you're feelin frisky

There is a Five Guys at DCA also, near the US Air gates. Can't remember the terminal designation.

Dulles has Potbelly subs, does DCA?
I think there's a bunch of regulars in the dc metro. does your trip include time for a few of us to take turns buying your beverage of choice?
My wife, who was a flight attendant, said Regan will get you closer to the city, but if Dulles is a pit, Regan is a cesspool.
DCA is cool to fly into because of the location. Flying from the south, pick a seat on the right side of the plane. Usually gives you better views. You'll fly right over the Naval Research Lab and get a beautiful view of most of the monuments

You know, the first time I flew there it reminded me of the helicopter scene from "Die Hard."
