I refer to them as toppers (here in FL).
Here in Ohio, I have only heard of the as caps, more specifically, truck bed caps.
Here is a big name in the business Leer and they call them caps.

This.
I'm in IL. When I was younger everyone I knew called them Caps or Truck Caps.
Nowadays everyone is calling them toppers or camper tops.
Florida born and raised, 20+ years. Always called em and heard em called toppers. wasnt till i moved to AZ then Ohio, i heard ALL of the the other names listed.
EDIT - i just remembered, my middle school was across the street from a place called "Toppertown". they sold truck toppers and tonneaus, flairs, grill guards and the like.

I'm from MS and I approve this message. In Indiana I've heard cap and topper.
Windows like that make it a camper shell. Solid/locking sides make it a utility cap/topper. My truck has the latter. I'm in MO.

being a military brat and spending a good chunk of my life all over the world around other people from all over the country I've heard all but canopy...
I have a leer high top on my s10 project but only because it was $25 lol... i'm amazed at how much they cost new... def for people that should have gotten a mini van most of the time (outside of a few people like a friend who has a 2500hd with a tool shed topper thing on the bed for work
In reply to Rufledt:

We have had "Kanopy Kingdom" around here forever. As far back into the 70's as I can remember people have been making "can of pee" jokes about canopys.
most people here in MN call them "toppers"..
i call them "that silly thing that makes it impossible to easily load stuff into the back of my truck".
