This guy:

Well in today's bizarro news story, it turns out there is a real Kirk Lazarus, but her name is Rachel Dolezal, and she was the president of the Spokane, Washington chapter of the NAACP You can't make this stuff up:

The Baroness was talking about how she's always envied being able to have hair like that and never thought a total whitey like her would be able to get their hair to do that. If it gets her to grow it out, I'm all in favor.

(I am reserving my political thoughts on the subject so far. Suffice to say, this is generating extreme reactions, and I think the extremes on both ends are kooky.)

If a guy born with a wang can self identify as a woman and be praised for it, who is to fault this white woman who feels she was born in the wrong color skin?

The NAACP has come out by saying something along the lines of they make no requirement of a position holder's race to be in that position.

and i do believe them at their word.

the question in my mind is; why did she feel the need to do this? Was it to grant her a legitimacy that she wouldn've otherwise had?

She left because she didn't think her racial identity needed to distract people from larger issues. It was her parents and the community who drew the attention to her position and racial identity, not herself.

If someone can call themselves black, white, asian or latino without needing to provide genealogical proof, why do we even ask that question? The Native American groups are the only protected class that requires proof.

According to the interwebz, this is apparently the most socially irresponsible thing ever. She is using her white privelege to appropriate black culture for the sake of being being a freeloader who just wants to get in on affirmative action to freeload on the system.

A black Negro? He never told me he was a black Negro. Thank you. Boy, just when you think you get to know somebody. I'm gonna go confront him with this information right now. Wow... Mark... a black Negro!

She's got a great look, thats for sure. I was always wished I could be mixed race. She pulled it off. I could not.

I'm sure i'm just not understanding the context, but that reads as one of the stranger posts i've read in awhile.

My wife, who is bi-racial, says we're all missing the punch line here. The butt of the joke is Spokane.

" There ain't no colored folks up there, except when I go to visit your family."

Yes, I do have family in Spokane, yes, she has been there.

I told her that there seems to be a job opportunity in Spokane that she is at least twice as qualified to hold as the out going person....she said "no thanks".

I wonder if her bio starts out like this: "It was never easy for me. I was born a poor black child. I remember the days, sittin' on the porch with my family, singin' and dancin' down in Mississippi... "

As in, whatever look she has been trying to achieve I think she's succeeded in doing so without making herself look unattractive. My comment can perceived as somewhat shallow, I suppose.

As in, sometimes when people try too hard to hide what they are born with it can go horribly array.

I'm not helping myself at all am I?

Since the doctors post was clearly created by someone with a bit of a bent (one of them isn't a Lefty as they might have assumed though), in the interest of balance, I think this is appropriate:

Straight.

Kind of. Some investigative reporters called her parents who refused to lie for her. They didn't actively go out and "out" her, although she deserves it. She also claimed to be part Indian, grew up in a teepee and they got their food using a bow and arrow.

The most interesting part in some of the news reports is when they have her parents talk about her. They are pretty diplomatic about it, but they basically say she it bat E36 M3 crazy.

Depending on how the genetic lottery goes you can end up looking like one and not the other. You also miss out on that sexy hollywood ambiguous blend thats all the rage. That helps when your family is ashamed of the mix and denies it. Or so Ive heard.
