Remember the Pittsburgh Zoo example of retarded parenting?

PITTSBURGH — The parents of a 2-year-old boy who fell into a wild African dogs exhibit and was mauled to death last fall have sued the Pittsburgh zoo. The lawsuit filed Thursday claims that officials had ample warning that parents routinely lifted children onto a rail overlooking the exhibit for a better view. Jason and Elizabeth Derkosh seek unspecified damages in the Nov. 4 death of their son, Maddox. He fell from the wooden railing after his mother lifted him up to get a better look at the painted dogs. According to the lawsuit, other zoos have more and better safeguards in place to keep children safe while viewing the dogs. A zoo spokeswoman did not immediately comment.

I think that now the mother deserves jail time.....

I'm pretty sure my sentiment over this when it happened was no criminal charges until she tries to sue for her own stupidity.....

She needs to be slapped with a manslaughter charge. If i chucked Yamaha over the fence into a tiger cage i'd probably to go jail.

She should be thrown out of court on her ear with a minimum of wasted time and held accountable for costs incurred by the defense.

I'd rather keep the jail space available for people who are an actual danger to society, and not just dysfunctional idiots who aren't capable of raising kids. There are too many of those to jail.

A friend who lives there said he heard talk in local media that the cops may be revisiting their earlier decision to not charge her with endangerment.

The Zoo is at fault because they had a railing that a mother could throw her kid over? By that rationale, please ban Niagara Falls, The Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, all highway overpasses, wood chippers, railway crossings, stairways, balconies, helicopters with doors, stepladders...

I'd just like to point out that my friend up there goes to that zoo fairly often. He says these are not fully grown dogs....they are not much bigger than my hound gertrude How does a parent not jump into the pit and start kicking some dogs in an effort to save their kid?
