A pretty short, but good article. I've always been interested in how he really felt about Americans.

Man did they chose the wrong color for the C-300. I think that's possibly the most beautiful American car evar, but that color really does it no favors at all.

Yes, yes I did.
Yeah, he was pretty accurate. My personal favorite on that list would be the Bullitt Mustang (an original, not the retro). But that Striker fire truck would be cool, too. Compaere it to a British fire truck:
And you can see why to a Brit it would be even cooler.
The ambulance from 'Grand Prix' would make me giggle in embarrasment if I were a Limey.

the only way the firetruck could be more british is if they'd called it a Nigel instead of a Dennis.

totally.

It's not a Canadian firetruck!

So did I, kind of like that Morgan Freeman picture.

nope.. it's siren would be quiet and the flashing lights dimmed so as not to hurt hearing or sight for any passerby. Health and safety regulations and all that

That's because he's an American. Just ask Jezza.

This I read in Clarkson's voice.
Can the Wrangler be classified as a retro styled vehicle if it's style never changed from WWII, and it never wasn't out of production?
"So many"? I think you mean "Ford or Chevy".
Which, of course, he didn't do. He name-checked all three. Not a specific pickup, but just pickups in general.

Yea, I saw that. I could even understand picturing a more classic truck. 50's as he had mentioned. I think it was just the specific photo that kinda made me think a little longer than I should have. You know some things you just shouldn't take the time to think about.

Did you watch the trip to New Orleans episode? He drove a white Dodge. Sentimental value?

And yet he really loves Morgans... which is basically the last bastion of "stuffy British" car makes.

I know, but having him not automatically hate all American cars makes him by far the outlier in the British motoring press. He's an anomaly.
Even cars they can't find any other flaw with at all get the obligatory knock that "it's too wide for our B roads" or a patronizing comment about a pushrod engine. You know when they get down that far, they are just stretching for any reason at all to criticize it.
