My opinions of Mr Hefner are colored by the fact that his longtime girlfriend, Barb Klein, went to high school a block from my house and my parents were close friends of her parents. It is one thing to think in the abstract about a 45 year old guy dating an 18 year old fresh out of high school, quite another to think about your friend's daughter that you have known since she was a little girl in that position. He did some good, did some bad; his impact on American society was definitely profound.
