It's a sad day for football and film fans.

For a second, I thought Aussie's bus crashed or caught fire.

RIP though.

@Joe: I honestly had no idea. When I saw your post I had to go to IMDB to confirm it. Amazing! Webster was one of my shows growing up. And Blazing Saddles was one of my favorite movies, though I didn't get half the jokes as a kid. But I never knew that Mongo was also George! My mind: Blown.

Holy crap! Battling heart disease, stomach cancer, and dementia. Any one of those would do in one of us mere mortals, but it took all three to take down Mongo. One tough S.O.B.

He was part of the group of former players suing the NFL over head injuries, too.

I got worried here. I was hoping it was not Steve McMichael's; also known as Mongo.

I had no idea he was that old. I guess I'm getting old too. I always thought he was a classy guy.

When they were shooting the movie The Midnight Man on the Clemson campus in the 70s, I got to see Susan Clark (his wife of 37 years) up close. She was hhhaaaaawwwwttt!

I can't believe Alex isn't in the Hall of Fame. That's just not right, but I suspect it has to do with his gambling suspension. I read his book "Big Guys Don't Cry" (IIRC) many, many years ago. I liked Karras, but I never watched Webster.
