Well, that sucks.  First Eddie Money, now Rick O.  Both were part of the soundtrack of my youth

Damn. Some great tunes from those guys. Moving in Stereo, Drive, Magic, My Best Friend's Girl, on and on....

I'd be nervous if I was Rick Springfield.

The Cars were the best band you ever heard that you forgot was the best band you ever heard. A stealth band, if you will.

One of the bands that pretty much always has a CD in my case, RIP.

This one hurts. sad

I was/am a big fan of The Cars. They were especially huge around here because they were from here (Boston area), so I grew up on a steady diet of their material. Ric was the man. Talented producer, too. I'll be spinning their stuff all week in tribute.

Songs from their debut album were getting heavy airplay on all the cool FM stations out of New York and Philly during my senior year in high school.
Their sound at the time was both completely unlike anything you'd ever heard before, and instantly likeable.  Undoubtedly a great band.  RIP Ric.

Tell me I'm not the only one who spent some time back in 1982 wondering just how many sides a cinchagon had.
