Parnelli Jones passes at 90.
How significant a figure was the man we knew as Parnelli Jones? The late, great Robin Miller said it best: U.S. motorsport’s Mount Rushmore would feature A.J. Foyt, Mario Andretti, Dan Gurney and Parnelli. And there’s little point in disputing that because he was right.
One of the best to ever sit behind a wheel.
One of the last drive everything greats has passed. RIP Rufus Parnelli Jones.
Damn. Pour one out for a career and life well lived. I raced in the Lemons Parnelli Jones Galaxie a couple times. Parnelli Jones himself signed a pic of it and thought it was his actual car. The car owner had to explain it was a well done tribute. Made a good story and great memory.
His passion, skill and accomplishments across different eras of motorsport will surely not be matched. It's the end of an era seeing these drivers who competed in racing's golden age pass on. Parnelli left an unmatched legacy though, and inspired so many along the way. A true icon that will not be forgotten.

I will raise a toast in his honor/remembrance this evening. RIP Parnelli.
Edit: Annie and I did do a salute to Rufus tonight at the Valley Country Club bar.
Saw the post on FB this morning from his son. One of my favorite drivers!!!
