The HRDW episode with Tony was one of the best ever. It was crazy that they had that much drama and last minute finish all the while being genuine. Tony is so genuine. When they did one lap of America and didn't tell Tony how bad the car was, that was priceless. I think Tony just can't do the hack stuff. I guess I like it because I can't even do the hack stuff well.

I'm unabashedly a hack so I can totally relate to the hacking they do. "Don't get it right, get it running".

I know that's what they said, but that seems more of a "made up for TV" reason than a real reason. It was making their lives overly difficult and dramatic just for TV. Notwithstanding them dropping all kinds of nasty fluids on the ground at a state camp ground.
Was that a CA state campground? If so, they could have created a huge issue. I am not sure if CA is the same (but I suspect it is), but I have a friend that used to work for the Federal Parks (in CA) and they have a guy that worked there that was a bit of a mental disability and tended to blurt out things. Well... an EPA inspector was on sight and this guy was being "helpful" by pointing out one of the truck was leaking oil, into the dirt...
...that resulted in excavating out (5 feet I think) around the "spill" and shipping that dirt to a special incinerator to be disposed of. I can imagine that might have resulted in a nice bill if you had to pay for it yourself.
It was in Georgia, not California, and Finn said why they chose to do it there. They have been in his shop for months filming and he needed a change of scenery or he was going to lose his mind.
Went to re-new my Motor trend network subscription only to find the price went way up. Sure the 1st year is $24, after that its $50! Typical screw the regular patron while the new user gets the deal. I do want to support the shows, but they should throw in a magazine at this rate.

MTOD is free if you have Hagerty collector car insurance (a GRM advertiser, natch).

The Rubber Ducky Firebird has sprouted a blower. And a Christmas Tree

I love Finnegan's logic: The hood keeps wanting to fly off, so I'm going to install an 8-71 blower so that I can't put a hood on anymore
When Finnegan does a massive burnout his mom has the biggest smile and is laughing showing me how much fun all this craziness is.

I think what I love most about the “brand” is that everyone seems to be having fun. I appreciate that more than anything else. They’ve made me appreciate drag racing and stick axles, too.

That idle surge on Finnegans firebird would drive me nuts. Same with how loud it is and the stupid seats.
How is it he's able to drop an enormous blower on a motor with high compression and not grenade a piston?

Blower surge is amazing.
Also, guys put superchargers on Ford Coyotes and GM LS3s with stock guys and those are 11:1 and 10.7:1 respectively and that 540 likely has better quality internals.
There's a guy named Bill Bolin who built a pro street 1970 Pontiac GTO with twin superchargers about 15 years ago. It wasn't so much for performance, but basically just for the visual impact and to prove it could be done (I believe he later took the second one off and went racing with it.) The blower surge on that thing was crazy, but once it got off idle it actually ran pretty well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vOey7ugadH8

Holiday Hooptie Challenge was every bit as hilarious as an episode of The Grand Tour.
In reply to NickD :
Those usually aren't positive displacement blowers, they're CF blowers that make max boost at max rpm for a very short period of time.
I also don't get the "We're going to space the blower up more because it looks cool! Not being able to see out the car is cool!" Uh, what? I put that right in there with the stance crowd...
Anyone catch the first episode of Faster with Finnegan Season 2? Seriously one of my favorite Roadkill Universe episodes. To take a beater and keep pace with a retired nazzzcar was awesome.
The Roadkill 2.4 hrs of LeMullets was pretty cool too minus the sads.
In reply to Scotty Con Queso :
I was genuinely impressed with that car and episode except they totally missed that the rear axle was leaking all of it's gear oil out of the passenger side.

The Ric Flairmont has so many style points. I did chuckle at them saying 500lb/in springs were stiff, when I'm running 800lb/in front springs on my Miata. Faster With Finnegan season 2 is definitely off to a strong start.
Its cool to see Roadkill starting to interact with fellow Youtube stars like Cleetus more and more. I wonder if Tom Bailey knows they caught him on camera actually smiling. He usually tries to act so stoic and not smile in front of people.

A couple weeks back, Cleetus was doing a video at the Freedom Factory and pointed out that the Hilux is still there.

Somewhere, on some hard drive, I've got a picture of that thing. Showed up at a local cruise-in night when i was stationed in DC
I agree with Peabody, where are the recipes? I watched a couple shows and watched when there were on Fast N Loud, there are two new shows flippin Bangers and Twin Turbo, that are more entertaining to me. It's hard for a show after a couple seasons to keep fresh, Covid seemed to kill the latest.
