The trusses arrived today. Now I just have to sucker a couple people into wasteing a perfectly good Saturday or Sunday helping me install them. (really, it will be easy....I'll even supply beer and pizza)

Another step closer. Of course I hurt my back in the process and that will slow things down for a bit. That's what I get for trying to take advantage of a 50 degree day in February right?
The new truss diagram shows each end resting on a wall (Points 9 and 12). Hopefully that is just a design software quirk and not structurally necessary.
The new trusses being shorter than the full span means the connection between old and new members is pretty critical. Good luck.
Yes, I asked about that, It's a software thing. The engineer came out and took measurements himself before they were built. They also gave me instructions for proper nailing.
1600 nails later, they are installed!
This guy helped with 1,000
If you've played Claptrap in Borderlands the Pre-Sequal, you know what "load'n'slpode" means...
Didn't bring it into play untill I had done over 500 by hand. Should have done it sooner. Worth the rental fee for sure.
Still have to tidy up a few things before I cut out the old truss parts. Going hoist shopping in a couple of weeks, Challenger LE10 or SA12 looks to be the final choices.
Maximum Headroom!
Settled on the Challenger LE10 lift, should have in a week or 2. I'll start a new thread for its installation.
