Uncle. Enough. Just play friggin' nice when you're talking to people on this board. That goes doubly so for anything in the 'sensitive' areas like politics and religion. We don't care who you worship. We don't care if you don't. We don't care if you feel gypped after the election...etc. If you can't, we'll just have to limit conversations to just the business-appropriate subjects.

Which sucks, because I like hearing what you people have to say.

I'll add a little P.S. Pretend that we're hosting a little party. Open discussion is great, and honestly I'm honored that you guys come to our place to hang out. We took a bit of a gamble in opening an off-topic board, and for the most part I really enjoy it. We have attracted a great group, and the back-and-forth discussion is a nice break from the typical "what car to buy" stuff.

However, just play nicely and treat each other with respect. Remember, we're all on the same team--we're people who love cars and the happiness they bring us.

More importantly, no one wants to be "that guy."

Ive said it before and I will say it again-keep up the political discussion. Amazingly enough I often learn stuff from you guys. (dont know whether that means you guys are smart or im an idiot)

As the old adage goes...a mind and a parachute...both work best when open.

Waaaay too much closed mindedness and bs pc crap around here. Everyone should feel free to voice their opinion and if someone has a problem with it, try PM or try relaxing a little.

Personally, I love the political discussion on this board, even though I try to stay out of it as much as possible. I actually read a few political board on every side of the political spectrum and I think the back and forth here is among the best.

Just like real politics, though, the discussion can lose its purpose when things become overly personal, overly dogmatic or just general wiener stretching contests.

As to the current flap over someone getting offended, yeah, sometimes we're all guilty of getting in over our heads and need to tone it down. Having said that, I would also wonder exactly what level of discourse one should expect from someone named "poopshovel."

I couldn't love GRM the magazine or the website more, and believe me, I don't like to be the P.C police or anything or the guy who has a problem with everything thing, but I do have a problem with this...

I find it a bit offensive that you use terms like “That Guy” etc etc... for your little descriptions or whatever in the avatars. I myself do not have testicles, nor am I a poli-sci teacher or homophobic, but I feel sensitivity for people with opinions as I am a student taking super sweet classes, and my Girlfriend is pursuing her masters in the field.

These terms although I'm pretty sure are not even real words, are obviously meant to resemble the words used to describe people with internet posting impairments, and it appears that they are used on these boards in a joking sense which, as I view it, makes light of people who are afflicted with humorous disabilities.

I think people need to not get so butt-hurt over politics. Political discussions are great if you can keep yourself in check. But to me politics....it's just a huge pissing contest. I care very little about politics, which is why I will go to the extremes just to irritate people, so if any of my political bashings have pissed you off I am sorry as well.
