Sahlen's Six Hours at the Glen

Hi All,

I would like to take my wife to her first Pro race at the Glen (XMAS Gift, she said she has a enough jewelry). Anybody have any ideas on a nice hotel or SPA around there? Has anybody gone hiking in that area?

Lots of little hotel/motels in the area. My dad and I stayed at the Rodeway Inn Marshall Manor (Best Western) in Horseheads NY during a father son weekend at the Glen. Decent rate, clean room. 10 minutes from the gate.

Also, there are a lot of Vineyards on the NW side of the finger lake if that helps your cause ;)

Take a walk up the Glen.

there's a chinese restaurant in watkins glen called HOUSE OF HONG. that's all i got.

+1. Hike from the bottom of the gorge up, walk across the park and sit in the bar at the Seneca Lodge for a beer. Marvel at the bits of race history on the walls.

Get in some sort of watercraft and take a spin around Lake Seneca.

If this is "special" get a B&B or house on the lake. If you prefer a hotel... the http://www.watkinsglenharborhotel.com/ has a nice view, right downtown at the marina.
