Well I saw Gambon this week at the movies. Yep saw the new Harry Potter movie and everytime I saw Gambon I could not help but think about Top Gear. In fact at one point I imagined him in full Dumbledore costuming driving the reasonably priced car.
As for the movie it was good, not the best I have seen this summer. Tons was left out from the book and the editing seemed kind of choppy at times. Also some major points like the revealing of the Prince and the big death at the end just sort of happened. Almost like they were an after thought. Oh there is also some parts that require seeing the other movies to understand.

so i'm not the only one...
Good film...I knew I recognized the big D from somewhere. Personally I think he was better in layercake.
Layercake rules.......mega-awesomeness
"you're born, you take E36 M3
go out in the world, you take more E36 M3
you climb a little higher, you take less E36 M3
Till one day you're up in the rarefied atmosphere and you've forgotten what E36 M3 even looks like.
Welcome to the layer cake son."

Most definitely not. I chuckled at the thought every time he was on camera.
There's a movie based on "Layer Cake?" Off to Amazon I go.

Daniel Craig, Gambon.... i think it was a Guy Ritchie film. Hugely entertaining.
It was the producer from the Guy Ritchie movies doing the directing. So it isn't as funny as Guy's movies, but a pretty good movie.

Ah gotcha. It definitely had his flavor.
I own it. Probably watched it 10 times. Doesn't get old.
great now its worse. The girl friend and I were watching the latest Top Gears on that wonderful site last night and everytime they mentioned someone turning into Gambon the image of Dumbledore driving the car would pop into my mind and I would laugh. Had to explain it to the girlfriend why I was chuckling and then she laughed as well.
check out the special features and you'll see an interview with the director about why he decided to direct and the differences between Layer Cake and Lock Stock, etc. Pretty interesting.
Good to know other share my affliction( final corner=Dumbldore)
