In the middle of moving, I have a Disco full of boxes and I am in no hurry. In all reality, I have found that with disco that not being in a hurry gets me to my destination just as quickly as if I had my hair on fire in my old BMW... just that I arrive a -lot- more relaxed.

So anyway.. I am doing 5 over the limit on a straight rural road and a G35 comes up behind me.. riding my back bumper so hard I thought he was going to buy me flowers. Soon as traffic opens up, he flies by me to get stuck behind the pickup ahead of me.. does the same to him and eventually passes that guy and the one ahead of him.

Five miles down the road, I am sitting at a light, right behind said G35. Light turns green and he floors it.. disappears down the road and blows by a cop.. last I saw him, there were red and blue lights involved.

I saw something similar today.

I'm running about 12 over. A little faster than traffic. I see a HP permanent plate on the BMW X5 in front of me. HP being highway patrol. I ease off and drop to the center lane. A couple of miles later a Acura cute ute comes up running 15+ over and starts tailgating the X5 in the fast lane. He's from out of state and doesn't recognize the HP plate. The X5 flashes the blues. I though the Acura was going to put it in the median trying to back off. He jumped off at the next exit. Probably needed to clean his drawers.

I love it when you actually see the Karma catch up with someone. I saw a guy get pulled over after driving VERY aggressively on the highway and it made my whole berkeleying week.

In reply to Toyman01: So the state police in South Carolina are using unmarked bimmers?

As long as I'm thread jacking I will add that I've seen more very stealthy and unconventional unmarked police cars in the past year than ever before.

South Carolina gets a few unmarked from plant 10 from time to time. Down near the old Saturn plant GM donated a few Cadilac STSs to the cause.

I Louisiana we seem to have a quite a few pick ups and Fusions as unmarked.

My funny karma story was in Florida visiting my in-laws. A bunch of rednecks pulled up next to me in a SN-95 GT vert. At the same time a cop pulled up behind my Focus. The Focus was stock so it was quiet. I reved the engine a few times at the Mustang and he revved back and nodded. His RPMs went up and the light turned green, pulling out normal I beat him off the line and he took off, with the cop zooming by me with his lights on.

I am an shiny happy person according to what he yelled when I drove by. I have to agree.

A solid decade ago when I was a wee youngin', I was driving on Howdershell in a semi-residential area; 5 lanes and 30 mph speed limit. Someone was less than thrilled with the speed traffic was going and decided to floor it in the center turn lane. He passed everyone, including a cop.

I used my '86 RX-7 to pick up a transmission from Pick-n-Pull in Austin (Transmission was for said RX-7) and as I'm accelerating up the on-ramp I notice a Trans-Am is riding my rear.

The Trans-Am floors it and passes me on the driver's side shoulder and THEN notices the cop in front of me.

I wanted to honk and shout

I've done that before, a long time ago when some Honduh boiz tried challenging my rustbucket 240SX. I made sure to cruise by reeaaallll slow so they could see me laughing my ass off while the cop wrote them up (not that my S13 was capable of anything but slow). The officer gave me the hairy eyeball, but luckily that was all.

I had instant Karma earlier in the week. I was driving to work and the roads were all icy. Remember, I'm in Raleigh, where that picture went around a little while ago- everything was shut down until at least 10 AM, but I still had to go into the office anyway. It was like 6:15 AM and there were like two other cars moving in the entire city. The roads were less icy in spots, kind of in the right lane and sometimes in the left or maybe in the middle, depending on the grade of the road, where the cars were driving the night before, etc.

This idiot in a Honda decided it was a good idea to ride my bumper in the left hand lane, where it was clear on that piece of road. I know the road in question, and I was sure on the downside of the hill we were going up the road was going to switch from being clear in the left lane to clear on the right lane, so I moved over and they blew by me.

They went down the hill backwards and into the median. I had to go check my servers, and they hadn't hit anything, so I didn't even bother to stop.

I hope he E36 M3 himself.

Sounds like an average drive through the municipal ring surrounding St Louis City. Some munies got fully marked vehicles with special paint jobs to express this vehicle was there primarily to keep the highway safer. Other munies have unmarked Chargers with speed stripes. Some have regularly marked cars with lights that I'm sure equal the price of the car. Interesting tactics.

I was traveling on a three lane highway one damp, dark night in fairly heavy traffic, and I come up on a two lane wide merge lane. (So it 5 lanes wide.) A turbo Eclipse starts at the far right and flys across to the far left nearly scraping the nose of my car (and very close several others). I immediately think, "That boy is going to get in trouble driving like that".

About a mile up he is sitting backwards in the median facing me as I pass by. It had been raining so the Median is wet, and he's sunk in. Looking back I wonder if he learned anything.

One time me and a C63 AMG were driving along pretty quick...I saw a brightly marked police truck pull between us so I dropped to top gear and legal speed. He didn't see it and unleashed a thunderstorm with the gas pedal, earning immediate police attention.

I had a similar experience on my way home from work last night. Coming up for a few miles before I switch from one parkway to another, I had noticed a blacked-out Tahoe behind me that just said "Cop" - no markings, but unadorned and with dark tint. He wasn't bothering people moving well over the limit, so I figured he was likely city or federal on their way someplace, not county or state (either of whom would likely have popped any one of the numerous people doing 20 over). When I got to the ramp connecting the parkways, which was jammed up as it drops from two lanes to one just before merging with the second parkway, some tool in a Sentra decides he's had enough of this lying around E36 M3 and blasts up the right shoulder, presumably headed for the first exit. He was followed about 3 seconds later by that very same Tahoe, now ablaze in lights. As I passed them on the shoulder, the government representative - a rather stern looking individual wearing tactical gear and a decidedly unfriendly facial expression - was making his way toward the now-terrified 19-year old in the Sentra. Good times.

had some happy shiny person in a rusty Escort pass me at 70+mph in a 50 zone one morning on a 4 lane rd. He weaved ahead through traffic and was out of sight after a minute. A few blocks later he ran a red and t-boned a Lincoln Towncar. Escort driver on the ground, writhing in pain as the Lincoln driver cursed at him like a sailor. I laughed the rest of the way to work.

Our last rush hour snow storm ( I believe that was during Snowmaggedon 43) had some instant karma happen. Dumas in a new body Elantra is riding my ass on the only "lane" that wasn't 5" deep of snow/ice. I say lane, and it was more like 2 tracks in the deep crap made by the line of semi's ahead of us. He finally gets tired of riding my ass, gets out beside me, almost loses it, gets past me and does the same thing to the car in front of me. As we near where the two interstates come together he decides to make a pass on the right past a semi. Next thing I see is his headlights facing oncoming traffic and flying snow everywhere as he slides to a stop.

I might have rolled down my window and waved as I went past.

My commute to work is pretty boring except for this one interchange that has a hard right then a long left sweeping banked curve with a quick right to merge with a 60 mph loop. Sometimes it is a bit of a drag race from a stoplight to the entrance to this fun feature. The bad part is when someone in their tall SUV or compensation truck decide they MUST get to the entrance first so they can go 11 mph!

Had one truck that was just going ape behind me trying to intimidate me or the car beside me to give him a gap...I mean 6 inches off the bumper at 50 mph, changing lanes abruptly, speeding up to get on my tail...you know the guy.

Well, My policy is usually to let idiots go and stay away so I figured I could put distance between us in the twisties as my modified suspension lightweight Escort handles a little better than his lifted truck.

But he didn't slow down! As I stayed in my lane, he was on the grass to my left...ACCELERATING!! trying to get in front of me through the left sweeping turn. I backed WAY off so he could be the first one to the accident when he hit some sort of drainage feature that launched his truck at about a 30 degree jump and he landed in the middle of the Loop...HARD. Seems his front suspension lost its integrity as tit was now sliding on the front bumper with the wheels kinda flopping.

As I rolled onto the loop I noticed that a policeman had seen the whole thing while giving a speeding ticket and only had to walk about 30 feet to check on the driver.

I stopped to ask the policeman if he needed me to stick around as a witness or something, but he told me to go on, but he might talk to me later. The policeman knows me and where I work so no problem there. I did talk to him later and we both laughed at the poor dumb kid.

When I was a younger Trickle, I was in the back seat of the family buick on the way to the beach. We were on a 2 lane road and a red 3 series was closing fast. The car was full of guys and they soon passed us. They were weaving wildly into oncoming traffic to pass people when it caught up to them. Not sure if they clipped the front of a car that they were passing or if they just jerked the wheel to fast, but I got to see the car barrel roll into a tobacco field. 2 of the 4 were ejected and amazingly nobody was seriously hurt. Surprise surprise beer cans littered the area around the wreck.

The cops in my area got nailed on entrapment charges for sending out unmarked mustangs to try to get people to street race them.

Just last year I saw ISP playing with a 92-7 firebird, and a 997 911 porsche, both unmarked, both yellow.
