Growing up in New York, I saw some Broadway (and off-Broadway) productions in my youth: Peter Pan, The Fantasticks, Little Shop of Horrors, Mummenschanz. I know there were more. I remember seeing Grease, but can't remember where. (Never saw Cats, though.) I did backstage work in high school.
Fast forward to modern times: This weekend my wife goes, We should go see Young Frankenstein. It's wrapping up in nearby DeLand.
So we went. Fun stuff. Cool, hundred-year-old theater. Friendly staff. Energetic cast that seemed to really work their butts off.

Live performances are great aren't they. Are you going back for Rocky Horror? We have a local summer stock theater, Priscilla Beach Theater, that re-opened about 10 years ago. They do shows from May to October, the talent is great and it is an inexpensive night out. We have had season tickets for the past 8 years and have seen some great shows. Highly recommend finding a local playhouse to support, it is lots of fun.

My wife and I saw a version of that very musical a few years back up here in the PNW. I am not a fan of musicals. But this was.. epic. Legendary. Fall outta yer seat laughing. It was SO great that we called the extended family and told them what they were gonna be doing next Wednesday and we bought a whole row of seats and saw it again right before it closed. I'm telling y'all, you see anything says "young frankenstein" on any marquee, buy tix!
My wife and daughter are headed up there next month to take in a couple of shows and see the sights.

Maybe for Rocky Horror? I think I have seen a live version but don't quote me. I saw it several times at midnight, though, complete with all the theatrics. (That was the only movie we weren't allowed to show in our school theater, by the way.)
Regarding Mel Brooks: I have heard History of the World Part II is in the works....
.... it's good to be the king....
Coincidentally, I've been watching Young Frankenstein. It's a great film to get into the Halloween spirit.
