I must convince the Team External Combustion dudes to try this place. Sounds awesome. I'm hoping that this year we can try out some of the better places off the highway for food. The typical chain restaurants are boring and all the food on the menu tastes the same. But when in the South, Waffle House is a mandatory part of the trip.

We used to have a chain similar to Waffle House up here in New England called Bickfords, and many of them were open 24 hours. I have seen many a drunken brawl there. When there's a duty cop at a restaurant at all times, you know you're in for a treat. Still, I've never seen a woman slip a nice juicy hamburger on her foot and try to walk around.

Is the bad Waffle House near a PepBoys? I think we tried that one before. It was edible. There is a much better one we usually go to of the highway out past Gainesville.

I dunno. It's the one north of town. Both times we went there, we waited over an hour for our food, and the place looked like it had NEVER been cleaned; in contrast with pretty much every other waffle house I've ever been to.

The TOP is the E36 M3. I think they only do brunch on sunday though. Country buffet in Alachua is no joke either. FRESH hashbrowns (not frozen,) home-made biscuits.

Oh, and there's one right off the highway on the Williston exit (south of town) that is also the big motherberkeleying trucker breakfast BOMB. Great hangover food, but no beer...I don't think.
