Seasoning firewood with dehumifier?

Would a dehumidifier help dry out firewood at all? Just curious

I assume you would keep the wood in an enclosed area and run a dehumidifier? My guess is no, it will not help. I keep mine off the ground stacked on pallets with plenty of sun exposure and fresh air circulation. No wet weather.

Yes, it should work. If you want to dry it fast you could try baking it in the oven. I know sounds crazy, but overnight at 250 it'll be nice and dry in the morning. It's a trick a uy I knew used for martial arts demos think breaking 2x4's across your back big showy splintery breaks.

What you want to do is smoke the marijuana and you will soon forget how much time has lapsed since you started drying out the firewood. You may even forget about the firewood altogether.

What you propose is essentially kiln drying. Albet with a truly pathetic kiln. Yes, you would speed up the drying rate, but it would be nominal.

your best bet is to make a kiln....aka a small shed with ventilation and a powerful heater.

or leave it outside with a tarp for a season

Well Im already running a dehumidifier all day, and the increase in the electric bill for that doesnt come close to the cost of propane at 2 bucks a gallon in the winter. Do you run propane or nat gas up in MN?

That wouldn't work, you've got to get the moisture out of the air or it will saturate. The temperature won't make any difference.
