I am going to be selling a few Items and don't really know how to go about assigning a fair price to them. I don' t want to sell any of it but I want to get out of debt more. I also don"t want to rip anyone off but I want to still get the most I can out of them. So how would I go about assigning a value to my stuff?
I have a couple firearms and a couple musical instruments so far and will likely dig up some more stuff to get rid of in the next couple days. The one that's going to hurt the most is the Vega banjo my Mom gave to me twenty years ago, I really don't want to let that go.

I generally look to ebay to find out how much things are going for. Do a search that includes only completed listings.
Can I ask, what musical instruments? And more info on the Vega?
The Vega is a v-243 model and the limited info I could find says it was made by the Deerling Banjo Co. from 1990-1997. I haven't found any values for it yet. But Deerling has a good reputation and the new Vegas on their site list from around $1500 all the way up to about $8000. I can tell you it sounds amazing and has a mahogany tone ring. Most of the info I've found for Vega banjo's are geared toward the very old collectible ones made in the late 1800's. Deerling bought the right's back from an Asian company sometime in the mid 1980's and they have been making them ever since.
The only other instrument I have is a cheap china flee market acoustic guitar. I think I gave $60 for it brand new.

Looked it up... And my resources couldn't find anything about it. I'd take it to a music shop and see what they say about it. The value might not be as high as you think, I did find that a lot of Vega's were made in Korea. That doesn't mean that its a bad instrument (we have at least three Korean made guitars and one mandolin) but it just won't be worth as much as American or Japanese.
