I think I have the car made right. At Autumn Ring Mini my first outing puts me in the mid 35's.
you are a stone faced LIAR!
35s are impossible, I have been chasing 37's for 8 days!
(part of me want's to believe you so I can give up)
35s?! Are you sure you're on the right tires? I got down to 37.2 tonight, I'll be lucky if I hit 36's...
Wow, that's really fast then. I'd like to see a video of that just to find out where I'm losing so much time.
OK, just to clarify, Nitrous may NOT be used in anything except the drag racing.
I've found at least 10 RX-7's that can qualify for this, and 4 that don't. Here's my first attempt at a varsity build:
1992 RX-7 Type RZ, purchase price $14052, $22948 left. Oil Change, $50, $22898 Weight Reduction I, $1200, $21698 Chip, $1500, $20198 Turbo I, $4800, $15398 IC I, $1800, $13598 Suspension I, $3200, $10398 Nitrous, $5000, $5398 Exhaust II, $2900, $2498 Clutch I, $1700, $798 Flywheel II, $600, $198 Car Wash, $50, $148
So I spent $36,852 of my $37,000 budget.
Performance (about an hour with the DualShock II):
11.169@139 @ Las Vegas 40.961 @ ARM 1'27.280 @ Fuji 80's.
No adjustments. Made 6 runs at LV, 6 laps at ARM, and 6 at Fuji. I really, REALLY suck at Fuji. I'm too chicken to hold the throttle through the end sweeper and when I let up I spin. Only got 2 clean laps. Same story at ARM, I'm rusty as hell and keep going off track. I had a faster lap but I had 4 wheels off so it was out.
Not sure if I'm going to use this one or not, I think I figured out the "Unicorn" for this one...
Hrmmm... Why no nitrous on the racetracks? was this specified before? oh, well, I still have the lowest ET of the posted times for the quarter mile.
It's always been no nitrous outside of the drags. The GT4 Challenges are run like the $2008 GRM Challenge.
Believe me when I say this car has a 10 in it. I think the other car will do a 10.4xx though...
man no nitro......O'well I'll build anthor car. no biggie. heay I can pick up a code that will make every new car $1 and use car $0.00 what about that. hahahaha no that would be to sweeet.
I too asked the NOS question and now the it changes. Is this the last change? P71 you bring up rules from old challenge as a ref. But breing new to the site how can I knew about them. I can only read what's in this post.

to P71 - agreed, there's absolutely no way that we could INFER that we shouldnt use nitrous on anything except the drag, I mean, we aren't mind readers. We were all playing within the rules that YOU posted.

Nos was not used to run in the 35's. I was playing around some with the car and changing the small number of suspension setting I have. I was going to added that later.
Woah, woah, woah, calm down fellas. A simple search of the old GRM board would have shown you all the previous rules. It's just a game to have fun with!
So no, no nitrous allowed on the road courses, just the drag strip. Just like GRM's real Challenge.
Sit back, relax, and try to enjoy it a little. There's no prize to winning.
I lost my specific price on my car, but I have everything else documented. It is a '90 gt-x(?) with a pretty basic build. So far my time at the strip is 13.4xx. Now to get to the road coarses. And I might do a 3rd gen for the hell of it.
1990 RX-7 GT-X $8,700/ Stage 2 Turbo $13,000 / Oil $50/ Wheels $500/ Sport Suspension $3,100 / Fully Customizable Transmision $10,200/ Stage 1 Weight Reduction $1,100
Grand Total $36,650 Current time 2'21.696
edit i might drop the stage 2 turbo for different power adders
